Let’s Say Nice Things About... Tag Team Breakups

Now more than ever, the world needs a good dose of positivity. We here at Cageside Seats will do our small part to bring that positivity on a daily basis. Throughout the entirety of 2017, we’ll say something nice about wrestling and everything around it, past, present, and future.

As a reminder, only positive comments are allowed here. No negative comments, no troll comments, no back-handed compliments. None of that here. You have the rest of the site for that. Any comments that are not in the spirit of this feature will be flagged, deleted, and posters of said comments may be subjected to a ban.

Seems WWE’s had quite a few of these this year, so I guess today is as good as any to try a put a good spin on it. Today’s subject: tag team breakups.

Few stories pull at the heart strings of fans like when a beloved tag team splits (see DIY, Enzo and Cass, Golden Truth, and Jericho and Owens—just in 2017).

Also, few stories can kickstart a singles career like a tag team breakup (see the Rockers. Marty had an ok career, while Shawn... well, he did okay for himself too, right?).

Though it sucks on an emotional level, if the aftermath is done right, at least one half of the team comes out better for it. Plus, who doesn’t like a good vengeance story, amirite?

See? Easy. Now you do it. Say something nice about tag team breakups.

Got a suggestion for a future “Let’s Say Nice Things About...”? Hit me up on the Twitter gimmick @notoriouseddie. I may not always respond, but I will read it.
