Let’s Say Nice Things About... WWE in 2011

Now more than ever, the world needs a good dose of positivity. We here at Cageside Seats will do our small part to bring that positivity on a daily basis. Throughout the entirety of 2017, we’ll say something nice about wrestling and everything around it, past, present, and future.

Today’s subject: WWE in 2011, generally regarded as one of the most disappointing years in company history.

For better or worse, 2011 began the era of the part-timer. I know I’ll be in the minority when I say this, but think how many more people would have lost interest sooner if it weren’t for them. Or how many people wouldn’t have returned to the sport they once loved if if weren’t for them.

Seriously, who DIDN’T pop for the return of The Rock?

Or CM Punk’s moment of triumph: winning the WWE Championship and leaving with it with his trunks on.

And his epic return eight days later.
