Let’s Say Nice Things About... Diamond Dallas Page

WWE.com

In an effort to bring some positivity to professional wrestling—and the world for that matter—Cageside Seats and its community will say nice things about people and things in wrestling every single day throughout 2017.

A reminder of the rules: only positivity allowed here. No back-handed compliments, and CERTAINLY NO NEGATIVITY. If you don’t have something nice to say, keep it to yourself, or take it elsewhere. Negative comments will be deleted and you may be subjected to a ban. Cool? Cool.

Today’s subject: Since today is his birthday, WCW triple crown champion and recent WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page.

I’ll start. Diamond Dallas Page is one of my favorite wrestlers ever. Hell, he might be one of my favorite people ever. Page proved that no matter what age, it’s never too late to try something new (his wrestling career began at 32, his first match was at age 35).

In terms of “over” finishing maneuvers, the Diamond Cutter at its peak may have been the most over finish in wrestling, and I think only the Stone Cold Stunner and Jackhammer were close. It’s one of my favorite finishers ever.

But DDP’s post-wrestling career is perhaps how he will be most remembered. Not only did he start a pretty successful yoga program, he has rehabilitated two legends who probably owe the latter years of their life to him: Scott Hall and Jake “The Snake” Roberts.

Diamond Dallas Page is proof that sometimes good things do happen to good people.

Your turn. Say something nice about Diamond Dallas Page.

And if you have a suggestion for a future “Let’s Say Nice Things About...”, hit me up on Twitter @notoriouseddie. I promise I won’t bite.
