In an effort to bring some positivity to professional wrestling—and the world for that matter—Cageside Seats and its community will say nice things about people and things in wrestling every single day throughout 2017.
A reminder of the rules: only positivity allowed here. No back-handed compliments, and CERTAINLY NO NEGATIVITY. If you don’t have something nice to say, keep it to yourself, or take it elsewhere. Negative comments will be deleted and you may be subjected to a ban. Cool? Cool.
Today’s subject: three-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion, five-time IWGP Intercontinental Champion, two-time NXT Champion, and as of last night, the newest member of the WWE main roster, “The King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura.
I’ll start. Nakamura is one of those wrestlers where upon first glance, you’re like, why would anyone get into this guy, he’s so weird. And then Nakamura wrestles, and it’s night and day. He’s a showman. He’s a braggart. And he’s one of the most vicious strikers in all of wrestling (probably because he does have a legit MMA background).
Nakamura’s style is not really for everyone, but maybe that’s why he’s so special. He’s unique unto himself. He’s truly a 1 of 1 wrestler. There will never be another like him. Here’s hoping he finds success on the main roster when he gets there (he could be there already by the time this post goes up).
Your turn. Say something nice about “The King of Strong Style”.
And if you have a suggestion for a future “Let’s Say Nice Things About...”, hit me up on Twitter @notoriouseddie. I promise I won’t bite.
