Hi! If you're new to Cageside Seats, welcome to the best wrestling community in the galaxy. You could have chosen many other wrestling communities (and you probably have), but you picked this one, and we appreciate that. I think it's time you and I get to know each other a little better. I mean, since you're gonna be here for a while, I hope.
Beginning today and for the next five weeks, I will drop a wrestling-related query and you answer. It’s that easy. No right or wrong answer, and best of all, you might actually make a friend or three. Also, respect the answers of others, even if you disagree. Cool? Cool.
Onward. Today’s question is one I’m sure you get often because you’re a wrestling fan...
Why do you like wrestling?
You’re on a wrestling site, so you must like wrestling on some level, amirite?
I’ll start. Well, it's one of those things I fell in love with as a kid. Watching larger than life men do incredible feats of strength caught my eye as a little Eddie Mac. As I grew older, larger than life personalities doing incredible things with their bodies caught my eye as a young adult Eddie Mac.
I also got invested in the stories of many of my favorites, and here's the greatest thing--at least for me--about wrestling. You can stop watching for a few weeks at a time, jump back in, and not be completely lost. I'm not sure there are a lot of shows you can say that about. Plus people doing incredible things with their bodies always catches my eye.
And in the words of Max Landis, who did this awesome short called Wrestling Isn't Wrestling (and you should all watch it, like right now), yeah, a lot of pro wrestling sucks. But when it's good, it's fucking great. And in the words of Eddie Mac, when it's great, it's incredible (i.e. 33, Wrestlemania).
That’s why I like wrestling. What about you, Cagesiders?
