Let’s Say Nice Things About... Layla

WWE.com

In an effort to bring some positivity to professional wrestling—and the world for that matter—Cageside Seats and its community will say nice things about people and things in wrestling every single day throughout 2017.

A reminder of the rules: only positivity allowed here. No back-handed compliments, and CERTAINLY NO NEGATIVITY. If you don’t have something nice to say, keep it to yourself, or take it elsewhere. Negative comments will be deleted and you may be subjected to a ban. Cool? Cool.

Today’s subject: Miami Heat dancer, 2006 WWE Diva Search winner, and the last ever holder of the original version of the WWE Women’s Championship, Layla El.

I’ll start. Piggie James angle aside, I kinda enjoyed her pairing with Michelle McCool. In the “models turned wrestlers” era of the late aughts, Layla may be among the best of the group.

I also loved her all-too brief pairing with William Regal (now that’s a deep cut, kids).

I kinda wished her “Slayers” pairing with Summer Rae went a little bit somewhere. I mean, it could have been a face Lay-Cool. Probably.

Your turn. Say something nice about Layla.

And if you have a suggestion for a future “Let’s Say Nice Things About...”, hit me up on Twitter @notoriouseddie. I promise I won’t bite.
