In an effort to bring some positivity to professional wrestling—and the world for that matter—Cageside Seats and its community will say nice things about people and things in wrestling every single day throughout 2017.
A reminder of the rules: only positivity allowed here. No back-handed compliments, and CERTAINLY NO NEGATIVITY. If you don’t have something nice to say, keep it to yourself, or take it elsewhere. Negative comments will be deleted and you may be subjected to a ban. Cool? Cool.
This week, we’re focusing on Wrestlemania. And if you all check your calendars, today is the day after Wrestlemania. So today’s subject is what WWE’s officially termed Wrestlemania Monday.
NOTE: This is in reference more to the day after Wrestlemania in general and not just the WWE 24 special on said Wrestlemania Monday.
I’ll start. Wrestlemania Monday is like the opening day of baseball season or the kickoff of the NFL season (or the first week of Premier League season if you’re into that). Everything’s anew, everyone starts with a clean slate. New storylines. New stars. And hope springs eternal on opening day.
A lot of my recent favorite wrestling memories have come from Mania Monday, such as the Ultimate Warrior’s final message to the world, Daniel Bryan’s two belts drowning out Triple H, Brock Lesnar’s F5 and hat kick, Dolph Ziggler’s cash-in, and Paige one-hit kill of AJ Lee.
And I will say one good thing about the crowds in recent years at Mania Monday: they don’t sit on their hands.
Ok, now you do what I just did. Say something nice about Wrestlemania Monday.
And if you have a suggestion for a future “Let’s Say Nice Things About...”, hit me up on Twitter @notoriouseddie. I promise I won’t bite.
