Let’s Say Nice Things About... Bayley

In an effort to bring some positivity to professional wrestling—and the world for that matter—Cageside Seats and its community will say nice things about people and things in wrestling every single day throughout 2017.

A reminder of the rules: only positivity allowed here. No back-handed compliments, and CERTAINLY NO NEGATIVITY. If you don’t have something nice to say, keep it to yourself, or take it elsewhere. Negative comments will be deleted and you may be subjected to a ban. Cool? Cool.

Today’s subject: former NXT Women’s Champion and current WWE Women’s Champion (RAW subdivision) Bayley.

I’ll start. I’ll admit: I wasn’t on the Bayley train right away. The naive babyface that tries so hard to be genuinely likable. You know, so sweet it’s kinda gross. No sane person could get behind this, I thought.

And then you get to know Bayley and the person behind her: she’s as genuinely likable as she appears to be. And you can see why people get behind her. She’s not classically beautiful in the sense of say a Miss Elizabeth or Sunny or Trish Stratus, but Bayley’s still gorgeous. And Bayley at her best is absolutely fun to watch (see her NXT classics with Sasha Banks as a prime example).

Bayley’s theme is one of the few (I could probably count it on one hand) that brings joy to an entire building the second those opening notes play. Hell, I’m smiling just thinking about it. I wish there were more people in the world... or at least in the wresting business... like Bayley.
