Let’s Say Nice Things About... Lita

In an effort to bring some positivity to professional wrestling—and the world for that matter—Cageside Seats and its community will say nice things about people and things in wrestling every single day throughout 2017.

A reminder of the rules: only positivity allowed here. No back-handed compliments, and CERTAINLY NO NEGATIVITY. If you don’t have something nice to say, keep it to yourself, or take it elsewhere. Negative comments will be deleted and you may be subjected to a ban. Cool? Cool.

Today’s subject: 4-time WWE Women’s Champion, WWE Hall of Famer, and today, a birthday girl, Lita.

I will start. I can see why a lot of people, especially women, took to Lita. She’s beautiful, but not in the classic model or movie star sense, but in the “girl next door” sense. That by itself made her stand out among the other women.

And then she wrestled. Though people who follow joshi or lucha libre prior to 2000 already knew, for a lot of people, seeing Lita fly around doing stuff reserved for cruiserweights was a mind-blowing experience.

She’s also responsible for two of my favorite Monday Night RAW moments ever: (1) when she finally beat Stephanie McMahon for the women’s title in 2000, and (2) when she finally beat Trish Stratus for the women’s title in 2004.

Your turn. Say something nice about Lita.

And if you have a suggestion for a future “Let’s Say Nice Things About...”, hit me up on Twitter @notoriouseddie. I promise I won’t bite.
