Let’s Say Nice Things About... Becky Lynch

WWE Women on tumblr

In an effort to bring some positivity to professional wrestling—and the world for that matter—Cageside Seats and its community will say nice things about people and things in wrestling every single day throughout 2017.

A reminder of the rules: only positivity allowed here. No back-handed compliments, and CERTAINLY NO NEGATIVITY. If you don’t have something nice to say, keep it to yourself, or take it elsewhere. Negative comments will be deleted and you may be subjected to a ban. Cool? Cool.

Today’s subject: the first-ever Women’s Champion (Smackdown division), Becky Lynch.

I’ll start. Becky Lynch has a smile that could light up even the darkest room. And she has quite the sense of humor to boot. Admittedly it’s not for everyone, but humor is subjective.

Becky also has quite the compelling story: after suffering a career-ending injury at just age 19, she’d go to school, become a flight attendant, and get into acting. She could have been satisfied with that and probably go the rest of her life relatively pain-free, but Becky got back in the ring even though her athletic prime years may be gone.

She not only fought her way back, she fought her way to the big time. Though history will probably show she wasn’t nearly as successful as her fellow Horsewomen, just the fact she returned to the sport after suffering a catastrophic injury is to me worth more than any number of championships she’ll win.

Ok, it’s your turn now. Say something nice about Becky Lynch.

And if you have a suggestion for a future “Let’s Say Nice Things About...”, hit me up on Twitter @notoriouseddie. I promise I won’t bite.
