In an effort to bring some positivity to professional wrestling—and the world for that matter—Cageside Seats and its community will say nice things about people and things in wrestling every single day throughout 2017.
A reminder of the rules: only positivity allowed here. No back-handed compliments, and CERTAINLY NO NEGATIVITY. If you don’t have something nice to say, keep it to yourself, or take it elsewhere. Negative comments will be deleted and you may be subjected to a ban. Cool? Cool.
Today’s subject: seeing today is the 17th anniversary of its creation and the 16th anniversary of its first game (more on that in today’s TDIPWH, which will be up at 9am ET): the XFL.
I’ll start: I’m a sucker for football that is different from the norm, and the XFL was just that. I liked its “so far out there, it’s not even there” presentation. I liked the scramble for the ball. I loved the black football. And I love the Orlando Rage and am still not happy they didn’t win the whole thing. Plus the fan atmosphere was pretty cool. And fair play to Vince McMahon: still more than a decade later, he’s more than willing to poke fun at his big failure.
Ok, now you. Say something nice about the XFL.
And if you have a suggestion for a future “Let’s Say Nice Things About...”, hit me up on Twitter @notoriouseddie. I promise I won’t bite.
