WWE gave us its twenty-ninth annual WrestleMania pay-per-view (PPV) event last night (Sun., Apr. 7) live from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The show featured Undertaker retaining his streak to now be 21-0 by defeating CM Punk.
That's five points for everyone who guessed Undertaker correctly.
Plus, of course the match for the WWE Championship between The Rock and John Cena, which had Cena walking away the victor this time around, and was worth ten points. There were two other bonus matches worth five points apiece, while the other five matches on the card were worth two points apiece this time around.
Reminder of all the rules for Event 14 in our inaugural PPV Pick Em Season: WrestleMania 29 Edition ~
NOTE: There were special bonus points available for this event, seeing as it's the biggest show of the year. The event is built on four big matches, so for those matches, we gave extra points:
The Rock vs. John Cena - 10 points
Undertaker vs. CM Punk - 5 points
Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H - 5 points
Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger - 5 pointsThe Dolph Ziggler Money in the Bank Cash-in was also back in play for this event. Predicting it correctly netted you an additional 5 points -- but predicting it incorrectly lost you 5 points as well, so you had to be careful with that one.
Each correct pick of every other match on the card was worth 2 points for this show.
Now onto the line-up for WrestleMania 29:
The Rock vs. John Cena - 10 points
Undertaker vs. CM Punk - 5 points
Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar - 5 points
Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger - 5 points
Team Hell No vs. Dolph Ziggler & Big E Langston - 2 points
Ryback vs. Mark Henry - 2 points
The Shield vs. Big Show & Randy Orton & Sheamus - 2 points
Wade Barrett vs. The Miz - 2 points
Chris Jericho vs. Fandango - 2 pointsTons of Funk & the Funkadactyls vs. Rhodes Scholars & the Bella Twins
Ziggler's "NOT Cashing it in" was correctly predicted - 5 points
Ziggler's "Cashing it in", which he failed to do, was incorrectly predicted: minus (-) 5 points
Opting not to predict Ziggler at all = 0 points won or lost
That is a total of 40 points available for nine matches; best case scenario is to go 40-9-0 in the rankings -- although no one did it. Speaking of that, let's not waste any more time getting straight to the latest results from the picks for this event:
