ROH TV title match added to AEW WrestleDream

The WrestleDream card is filling up in a hurry. For the latest addition, AEW phoned in a favor from ROH for a TV title bout.

Atlantis Jr. will defend the ROH World Television Championship against Brian Cage on the Zero Hour pre-show for WrestleDream.

Atlantis Jr. won the ROH TV title when reigning champion Kyle Fletcher made a special appearance in Arena Mexico for CMLL. This fresh defense for the luchador stems from Survival of the Fittest at Death Before Dishonor. Six men entered the elimination match, and the finish came down to Atlantis Jr. countering the Drill Claw for a roll-up to pin Cage. ROH decided to run that back as a singles affair.

Atlantis Jr. has held the gold for 97 days and counting. Cage would be a worthy competitor for the belt to change hands. However, I’ve got my eye on Fletcher in a rematch down the line. The Aussie said he wants another crack on his home turf. AEW visits Australia for Grand Slam on February 15, 2025. That could the long pay-off for Fletcher to get his win back on Atlantis Jr.

The updated card for WrestleDream includes:

  • AEW World Championship: Bryan Danielson (c) vs. Jon Moxley
  • AEW International Championship: Will Ospreay (c) vs. Ricochet vs. Konosuke Takeshita
  • TNT Championship: Jack Perry (c) vs. Katsuyori Shibata
  • ROH World Championship: Mark Briscoe (c) vs. Chris Jericho
  • Open Challenge: Darby Allin vs. TBA
  • ROH World Television Championship: Atlantis Jr. (c) vs. Brian Cage on the pre-show

The PPV event takes place on October 12 from Tacoma, WA.

Who do you think walks out of WrestleDream with the ROH TV title?
