Jack Perry rips up his AEW contract at NJPW Battle in the Valley

AEW star Jack Perry (fka Jungle Boy) was suspended by the promotion following a backstage fight with CM Punk at August’s All In pay-per-view event at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Perry has been absent from AEW programming ever since then, which means it’s been more than four months since we’ve seen him in a pro wrestling ring.

That changed tonight when he showed up in San Jose, California, at NJPW Battle in the Valley 2024. Here Jack is jumping the rail wearing a mask to take out Shota Umino. The bearded Perry proceeds to rip up his AEW contract, which got a big reaction from the live crowd and the commentators. Perry closed out the angle by putting on an arm band that had the word “scapegoat” on it.

AEW does have a close relationship with NJPW, so this could all be part of an angle between the two companies as Perry makes a splashy return to pro wrestling. Then again, we don’t really know what Perry’s current status is with AEW following his backstage fight with Punk in August.

What do you make of Jack Perry’s surprise appearance at Battle in the Valley, Cagesiders?
