This is what happens when Ric Flair and Sting are featured in the main event of AEW Dynamite

AEW Dynamite

The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (Jan. 10) Homecoming episode of AEW Dynamite.

Per Wrestlenomics, Dynamite netted 797,000 viewers and a 0.29 rating with the 18-49 year old demographic. The viewership number is very slightly down while the demo rating is up compared to last week’s results (801K, 0.26).

This episode was headlined by Sting and Darby Allin teaming up against the Don Callis Family in a Texas Tornado match. Ric Flair also got physically involved on behalf of the babyfaces, with Powerhouse Hobbs no-selling a couple of Ric’s chops before succumbing to the eye poke. This is the match that AEW was hoping would keep fans tuned in to the very end of Dynamite.

Average viewership dropping below 800K is what will probably stand out to a lot of people about these numbers. It’s only the fifth time over the last year that Dynamite viewership fell below that mark. That being said, only three episodes of Dynamite have scored a higher rating in the key demo going back to the start of last October, so the overall results are a mixed bag.

Next week’s Dynamite features Samoa Joe defending the AEW world championship against HOOK, so perhaps we’ll get a better sense for how many wrestling fans agree with Tony Khan in thinking HOOK is a credible challenger for that spot.

Here’s a breakdown of AEW viewership and rating in the 18-49 demo over the last year:
