AEW’s Twitter

Here’s a place to check results and comment along with a new episode of AEW Dynamite, airing tonight (June 21) at 8 pm ET on TBS.

New Japan stars will be in action, with Minoru Suzuki returning to team with Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara for a trios match, and Orange Cassidy partnering with Katsuyori Shibata to take on Daniel Garcia & Zack Sabre, Jr. We don’t know if he’s showing up, but we do know Bryan Danielson is calling out Kazuchika Okada. We’re also getting something called a Blind Eliminator Tournament to determine who FTR’s next challengers are for the AEW Tag belts, and Adam Cole will speak after his World Title Eliminator draw with MJF last Wednesday. Kris Statlander puts her TBS title on the line against Taya Valkyrie, The Hardys battle The Gunns, Jeff Jarrett & Mark Briscoe have a Concession Stand Brawl — and more!

Come right back here at 8 pm ET when the Dynamite live blog kicks off once the show starts on TNT. It will be below this line here.

Enjoy the show!

AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JUNE 21

And when it rains, the rain falls down washing out the cattle town. And she’s far away somewhere in her eiderdown and she dreams of crystal streams, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with the intro video.

Ass Boys (Austin & Colten Gunn) vs. Hardy Boyz (Jeff & Matt Hardy)

Matt and Austin to start, the Hardyz get the better of them and work them over! Whisper in the Wind on Gunn... NOPE! Colten turns the tide, straight suplex on Brother Nero for a two count, Hardy with a jawbreaker, sidestep the charge and the path is clear! Austin tries to pick his leg, rolling mule kick, and a tag!

Matt in hot, lariats for everybody, Side Effect on Austin, back body drop sends Colten to the floor! Delete delete, Twist of Fate connects but Colten puts his brother’s foot on the ropes to secure the break! Hanging Hardy neck-first over the ropes, Austin with his feet on the ropes for a pin... NOPE!

Front kick, Fameasser blocked, slip out of the Twist of Fate, tag to Colten, underhook rolling neckbreaker... JEFF BREAKS IT UP! Manhattan Drop, Austin breaks it up, double whip, double DDT! Double leg drop to the midsection, Yambag City, front kick, Colten ducks the Twist of Fate on the first try but eats it hard on the second!

Bullet Club Gold run interference, Ass Boys have it...

Ass Boys win by pinfall with 3:10 to Yuma on Jeff Hardy.

Post-match, “Switchblade” Jay White and “Rock Hard” Juice Robinson slide in the ring to beat Matt Hardy down while the Gunns look on! Juice lays Jeff out with a loaded right hook! “Absolute” Ricky Starks and FTR make the save but quickly find themselves overwhelmed as well...

CM PUNK IS HERE AND HE’S READY TO FIGHT! Babyfaces clear house and Juice just barely avoids the Go to Sleep!

Punk gets on the mic and says if they want to fight so bad they’ll make it official and they’ll fight their asses on Saturday at Collision!

We get a video package where Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, and Sonjay Dutt talk about how they need to end this once and for all and Jarrett will kick Mark Briscoe’s ass.

At the concession stand, referee Paul Turner is keeping them separate while Jarrett throws food at Briscoe!

Jeff Jarrett vs. Mark Briscoe (Concession Stand Brawl)

Brawling up the concourse, Briscoe smashes Jeff in the head with a trash can and leans a table across a support pillar and throws Jarrett into it! Back across the concourse the other way, putting Jeff into a pillar and squirting mustards on him... MARK BRISCOE THROWS A PILE OF HOT DOGS AT DOUBLE J!

Karen Jarrett turns Briscoe around disguised as a concession stand worker and sprays catsup in his eye! Mark sets up a ladder and climbs it but a masked man climbs behind him and knocks him down... IT’S SONJAY DUTT AND WE GOTTA GO TO BREAK!

Back from commercial, the concession stand brawl has made its way into the ring, which is terrible. Sonjay and Jay Lethal and Jarrett put boots to Briscoe, Lethal tries to berate a crewmember at ringside... IT’S PAPA BRISCOE! HE CHOKESLAMS JAY THROUGH THE TIMEKEEPER’S TABLE!

Lariats for Dutt and Jarrett, he checks on Mark but Karen Jarrett takes him out with a low blow! A little redneck kung fu takes Jay out, batters Jeff, underhooks, Jay Driller blocked and here comes Satnam Singh! Goozle, chokeslam... CHRISTOPHER DANIELS AND BEST FRIENDS MAKE THE SAVE!

Lucha Brothers come down too and they cut Singh down! Rey Fenix takes him out with a plancha! Penta el Zero M with an elbow and a superkick, Mark catches Jarrett...

Mark Briscoe wins by pinfall with a schoolboy pin.

Backstage, Blackpool Combat Club, Don Callis, and Konosuke Takeshita cut a promo.

Jon Moxley says for Forbidden Door they’ve got a truly elite team and challenge the Elite to a five-on-five with Shota Umino joining them. Bryan Danielson says he’s challenged Kazuchika Okada to a face-to-face but he’s not even here and he knows why.

So many call Okada the best of his generation but against Danielson it’ll be clear he’s nothing but an amateur. So he’s gonna go to the ring tonight, call Kazuchika out, and if he doesn’t show up, he’ll prove to everyone that he’s an amateur and a coward.

And so we go to break.

Action Andretti, AR Fox, & Darius Martin vs. Le Sex Gods (Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara) & Minoru Suzuki

Guevara and Andretti to start, collar and elbow, soon enough Martin is legal opposite Suzuki and Darius leads off with a chop! Minoru smiling, he drops Martin with one shot! Tag to Jericho, double-team, Chris and Minoru do the Le Sex Gods taunt while Sammy begrudgingly claps from the apron!

Fox tags in, punches into the corner, whip, corner clothesline, inside-out dropkick, headed up top, nobody home, side kick, off the ropes, Guevara clocks him with a knee and Jericho drops him with a lariat and sends us to break!

Back from commercial, Fox crawling for a tag, Jericho comes in and clears the apron! Matrix evasion, tag to Andretti and he lights Chris up with forearms! Flying forearm, chops, off the ropes, duck a lariat, dive on Sammy, springboard lariat coming back in and Action is fired up!

Shotgun dropkick, split-legged moonsault, nobody home and Suzuki catches him in a sleeper hold! Darius attacks Minoru from behind and the old man turns around, a rictus grin on his face and violence in his hands to drop Martin with one shot! Gotch piledriver denied, Sammy with a double Ace Crusher! AR with a springboard dropkick, Chris laying chops in, back body drop to the apron, Fox with an imploding senton atomico to the floor!

Back and forth, tag to Martin, lariat for Jericho, Sammy gets a Spanish Fly, the match breaks down into “everybody do something cool”, Suzuki gets Fox in a sleeper and hits the Gotch piledriver! Darius with an O’Connor roll on Jericho, only two, jumping reverse STO... STILL NO!

Martin goes for a missile dropkick, Jericho has him scouted and puts him in the Liontamer...

Le Sex Gods & Minoru Suzuki win by submission with the Liontamer from Chris Jericho on Darius Martin.

Post-match, Renee Paquette interviews Chris Jericho about sharing the ring with Sting.

He grabs the mic and says everyone was so excited except for him, because he’s known Sting for a long time and how selfish and egotistical he is, and how he only shows up for the highest bidder, not a harlequin but a whore. He challenges Sting and Darby to a trios match against him and Sammy and Minoru at Forbidden Door.

Enter Sting.

He gets in the ring and asks Jericho why he’s so uptight and cussing under his breath. They had a great moment but a moment isn’t long enough, and he needs some time with him. He regrets not having some last week, but Sunday he’ll have some time for him, and he accepts Jericho’s lame challenge.

Darby says Chris has made lots of enemies in lots of places and they have just the guy for him, and he’ll find out who at Collision.

Tony Schiavone and RJ City start pulling names for the blind eliminator tag team tournament and we go to break.

Back from commercial, the Elite answer the Blackpool Combat Club’s challenge.

Hangman Page says with Kenny Omega out for his singles against Will Ospreay, that leaves them three against five, but they have friends all over. Kenny says when the chips were down and they needed a friend, they found one in an unexpected place.

Eddie Kingston rolls up and he says he doesn’t like or respect them but he hates Claudio Castagnoli more, and he wants the fifth guy to be a guy he picks, and he’ll make the announcement.

In the ring, Adam Cole gets on the mic.

He asks who’s ready for story time and says he hates to admit it but he has to give the devil his due, and MJF gave him one of the toughest matches of his entire career last week. He was put through a table and did everything in his power to win the match, but he didn’t.

However, Max didn’t win either. He understands it’s the smart thing to refuse five more minutes, but it’s also the cowardly thing to do, and if Max wants to be the best AEW Champion of all time, he has to fight everyone who gets in his way, and he’s never beaten Adam Cole, bay bay.

He calls MJF down to talk about his rematch.

Enter Maxwell Jacob Friedman.

He says when the world champion has a microphone, you keep your poor mouths shut. He congratulates Cole for coming out to play and giving him the Panama Playboy back and better than ever, and he’s welcome for the trouble of dragging him out of him.

And we all know that had time not run out, he had Adam beat. So as far as the rematch goes, he has to say “no.” Cole says he figured that was gonna happen so he had an idea to change his mind— how about they fight right now and he whoops his ass here in Chicago.

Tony Schiavone stands up, mic in hand. He has an announcement and Cole and MJF tell him to shut up in stereo. He says they had the draw for the blind tag team tournament and Adam and Max will be be teaming in the tournament! Neither man is happy about it!

Hiroshi Tanahashi appears on the tron to call Max a coward and tells him to show up at Forbidden Door so he can show him the strength of NJPW and the power of the Ace! MJF tells him off and Cole interrupts and says he knows he’s trying to prove he’s not a coward and... oh, he doesn’t think Tanahashi is better than him, does he?

MJF is apoplectic and says no one on this planet is on the level of the devil, and Adam calls him a coward again. MAX ACCEPTS TANAHASHI’S CHALLENGE! Cole wishes him luck and takes his leave while it dawns on Friedman exactly what he’s accepted.

Commentary shows us the first round brackets for this year’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments.

“Red Death” Daniel Garcia & Zack Sabre, Jr. vs. Katsuyori Shibata & Orange Cassidy

Sabre and Shibata to start, circling, front chancery, trading waistlocks, Zack looking for a triangle but Katsuyori keeps him from locking it in and they stalemate. Shoving each other, Garcia and Cassidy slide in the ring and referee Bryce Remsburg struggles to restore order as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Shibata with a headlock takeover, Sabre reverses with a headscissors, headstand escape into a toehold! ZSJ pops out into a cravate, shifting through, Katsuyori with the Cobra Twist, Sabre reverses to an octopus hold!

Shibata picks a leg, Zack slings him off and they stalemate again! Tag to Garcia, Shibata immediately starts clocking him with forearms! Cassidy and Garcia facing off, then Sabre in, block the lazy kicks, looking for a cravate, denied Orange turning the wrestling on, snapmare into a standing neck twist from ZSJ!

Tag to Daniel, thinking Romero Special but choosing to just stomp the knees, quick tags and double-teams and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Cassidy gets Stundog Millionaire on Sabre and the tag! Shibata in hot with forearms, snapmare, kick to the spine, Katsuyori drops Daniel on the apron, trading uppercuts with Zack, kick to the arm, tag to Garcia! Kicking away at the arm, Shibata comes back with forearms, snapmare into a kick to the spine!

Running hot, half-halch suplex... NOPE! Shoulder armbreakers from Garcia, roll through, Dragontamer locked on! Katsuyori reverses to a heel hook but ZSJ steps in with the standing neck twist! Off the ropes, Orange hits a tornado DDT! Daniel going lariat for boot with Shibata, cut off with a pump kick into the sleeper!

Zack runs in, Katsuyori takes him out with a boot, back to the sleeper, go behind, Orange Punch but malfunction at the junction and it hits Shibata, Daniel capitalizes...

Daniel Garcia & Zack Sabre, Jr. win by pinfall with a folding press from Garcia on Katsuyori Shibata.

Commentary informs us that all four men will be in a four-way for Orange’s AEW International Championship on Sunday.

Will Ospreay is interviewed and demands that AEW get him some security.

Don Callis rolls up and says he’ll need special security, especially in Toronto, and he’ll make his own personal military-grade security available to him at Forbidden Door. Will asks what he wants for his trouble and Don says he just wants to see a fair fight and a 1-2-3.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial we get a video package where Toni Storm runs Willow Nightingale down in the name of setting up a match at Forbidden Door.

Kris Statlander (c) vs. Taya Valkyrie (AEW TBS Championship)

Statlander taking it to Valkyrie out the gates, chops in the corner, action to the floor! Kris jumps over a trip and moonsaults to the floor to take Taya out! Back inside, Valkyrie cuts her off with a dropkick and we go to break!

Back from commercial, slugging it out, putting Valkyrie in the corner, Statlander charges in with an uppercut and then a knee, leg-hook Michinoku Driver... NOPE! Underhook capture mat slam... KRIS KICKS OUT! Wristlock, forearm, duck a lariat, off the ropes and Taya hits the spear!

Corner elbow, swing Statlander through the ropes, sliding German suplex! Kris Stat with the superplex, scoop her up...

Kris Statlander wins by pinfall with Wednesday Night Fever to retain the AEW TBS Championship.

Commentary hypes up our next week of shows and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Eddie Kingston is in the ring to announce his pick for the fifth member of his team with the Elite at Forbidden Door.

He thanks the crowd and says he’s gotta put a shirt on because he just had surgery and he ate a lot of ice cream, and he’s out here because the Bucks and Kenny Omega left because he told them he didn’t respect them. They’re cute, they’re good guys he guesses, but there’s been lots of things he doesn’t like and doesn’t agree with.

Especially a certain someone who’s supposed to be his homeboy that’s mad he’s teaming with the Bucks, but you gotta understand, he doesn’t like Claudio Castagnoli at all. He doesn’t care if he and Jon have a problem, because—

Jon Moxley comes through the crowd by himself to confront Eddie in the ring.

Kingston hands him the mic to say his piece. Moxley says if they stand behind you, protect them, if they stand beside you, stand with them, and if they stand against you, destroy them. Eddie says Mox drew the line, not him, and he loves him like a brother. He demands Jon say what he started to say about “every time” and Moxley puts hands on him but Eddie says he doesn’t have time for this and announces the fifth man as Tomohiro Ishii!

And the Stone Pitbull is here! Blackpool Combat Club attack Kingston, Ishii slides in the ring, but That Damn Numbers Game is too much!

“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson calls Kazuchika Okada out and says if he doesn’t come down he’s gonna stomp Ishii’s face in!

OKADA IS HERE!

Rainmaker and Dragon square up but Wheeler YUTA attacks Okada from behind! Wheeler holds him up but Okada ducks the Busaiku Knee! He wants a Rainmaker but Bryan slips out and to the floor!

They stare at each other from the ramp to the ring, smiles playing out across their faces.

Danielson says there isn’t gonna be any rain ‘cause he’s gonna kick his head in.

That’s the show, folks.
