Andrade will reportedly exit AEW after Worlds End, return to WWE

AEW’s Twitter

This isn’t particularly surprising, as reports have indicated for weeks that Andrade El Ídolo was likely to leave AEW when his contract ended and make his return to WWE. As recently as yesterday we heard that WWE was expecting Andrade to do just that.

Not many were expecting it to happen quite this soon, however.

A report from Wrestle Purists says Andrade’s AEW exit will happen after Worlds End tonight (Dec. 30), and that he could be back with WWE as soon as Monday:

According to WrestlePurists sources, Andrade El Idolo is expected by many in AEW to finish up with the company tonight at World’s End.

He is also believed by many within AEW to be heading back to WWE. Some think it could happen as soon as the Day 1 RAW.

A WWE source we spoken to is aware of the talk surrounding Andrade and is expecting him to join the company imminently.

A Fightful Select report followed up, saying that while their WWE sources believed Andrade’s deal wouldn’t be up until the spring, “many we spoke to in AEW expected his deal to be up imminently.” Fightful also claims that Charlotte Flair’s husband “made it clear this past Wednesday at AEW Dynamite he no longer wanted to be with the company and was planning on leaving.”

What’s more, they heard the situation between Andrade and the company has been “less than pleasant”.

Andrade is scheduled to face Miro on tonight’s PPV from Long Island. We’ll see how that goes, and if we see him on Raw’s Day 1 episode in a couple days.
