AEW adds four matches to Worlds End

With only a couple of days until their Worlds End PPV and only five matches official for the show on Long Island, AEW figured to bulk up the card on the Dec. 27 Dynamite. And they did just that.

Th first addition came after Swerve Strickland came up short in the Gold League finals of the Continental Classic. A visibly upset Strickland challenged his old tag partner Keith Lee to a match. Tony Schiavone informed Swerve, his manager Prince Nana, and all of us that Lee already had a contract drawn up. Nana didn’t like it, but the Mogul seemed ready... although perhaps dubious as to whether or not the meaty man he once held the AEW World Tag titles with would show up in Long Island...

Another expected match was made official via one of Miro’s usual pre-taped promos. He plans to end his wife CJ Perry’s client Andrade El Ídolo’s career on Long Island:

A busy segment which featured the returns of Sammy Guevara, Sting & Darby Allin set-up an eight-man tag that will replace the AEW Tag title defense that was nixed after Kenny Omega’s diverticulitis diagnosis. It will now be Tag champs Ricky Starks & Big Bill teaming with The Don Callis Family’s Powerhouse Hobbs & Kyle Fletcher to take on Omega’s Golden Jets partner Chris Jericho, Guevara, Sting & Allin.

The previously announced FTW match was moved to the pre-show, along with a 20 man Battle Royal for an any time, anywhere TNT title shot... convenient on a night when that belt will be contested in a No DQ match.

It all gives us this line-up for Saturday night at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York:

MJF (c) vs. Samoa Joe for the AEW World championship

• Jon Moxley vs. Eddie Kingston in the finals of the Continental Classic for the AEW Triple Crown title

• Toni Storm (c) vs. Riho for the AEW Women’s World championship

• Christian Cage (c) vs. Adam Copeland in no disqualification match for the TNT championship

• Julia Hart (c) vs. Abadon for the TBS title

• Swerve Strickland vs. Keith Lee

• Miro vs. Andrade El Ídolo

• Sting, Darby Allin, Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara vs. Ricky Starks, Big Bill, Powerhouse Hobbs & Kyle Fletcher

• Hook (c) vs. Wheeler Yuta in an FTW rules for the FTW championship (Zero Hour pre-show)

• 20 man battle royal for an anytime, anywhere TNT title shot (Zero Hour pre-show)

Sound worth a chunk of your hard-earned cash this new year’s weekend?
