MJF has another proud moment to add to his career résumé. The AEW world champion was inducted into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in Commack, NY.
I’ve been a top name in this industry since I was 21.
I’ve accomplished more than I can remember at this point. Championships. Accolades. Awards.
But this might be the most important one outside of being your @aew World Champion.
My great great uncle Benny Friedman is in the NJSHF and I’m very glad and humbled I get to be standing beside him and all the other incredible Jewish athletes in history.
MJF spoke with Newsday TV about the honor.
MJF: Everybody in this hall of fame, everyone on the wall, had to fight discrimination and anti-semitism. Because just being an athlete and a Jew is really not supposed to be in the same sentence. ... I love Long Island more than anything, I love being Jewish more than anything, and I love being able to be a role model for young Jewish kids.
MJF chimed in on social media after the ceremony as only he can with a side serving of comedic attitude.
I can’t put into words what today meant to me.— Maxwell Jacob Friedman™️ (@The_MJF) December 19, 2023
With the rampant discrimination and bigotry seen worldwide i proudly say i’m not just a Jew, I'm a human. We should all treat each other as such.
Except me…I deserve special treatment because I’m a hall of fame level human. pic.twitter.com/X5TifpyDUe
Chalk up another reason why MJF is better than you and you know it.
