The original story is below this line.
Former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa has been out of action since August 2022 due to injury. There was some talk of her possibly returning to the ring for the launch of Collision in June, but it didn’t happen. More recently, Rosa expressed hope that she could return to AEW this month in Texas.
That leads to tonight’s (Dec. 16) episode of Collision in Garland, Texas, where TBS Champion Julia Hart once again did the lights out trick to confront her next challenger, Abadon. Julia wasn’t alone this time, however. Skye Blue showed up and seemingly turned heel, working with Hart to take out Abadon.
That’s when Thunder Rosa’s comeback angle played out:
Rosa didn’t do much here, but she did get physically involved, perhaps setting up something bigger for next week’s Holiday Bash episode of Collision in San Antonio.
