Here’s a place to check results and comment along with a new episode of AEW Dynamite, airing tonight at 8 pm ET on TBS.
Check out our Wednesday morning preview post to get caught up on what led up to, and what we’re looking forward to on, tonight’s show.
This week’s show comes our way from Little Caesars Arena Arena in Detroit. It’s the fallout show from Sunday’s historic Forbidden Door PPV, but it’s also the end of Eddie Kingston’s war with Chris Jericho, as Kingston, Santana & Ortiz join Blackpool Combat Club’s Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli & new interim AEW World champion Jon Moxley to take on Jericho Appreciation Society in BLOOD & GUTS! Plus, Jade Cargill will defend the TBS title against Leila Grey, Christian Cage is back to probably continue saying horrible things about Jungle Boy’s family, Dan Lambert got Ethan Page a match with Orange Cassidy... and more!
Come right back here at 8 pm ET when the Dynamite live blog kicks off once the show starts on TBS. It will be below this line here.
Enjoy the show!
AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JUNE 29
Time has a funny way of playing jokes on you. While you’re waiting for what you think you know will happen next is never what you could’ve come to expect. And so, now I have to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with the intro video.
Dan Lambert cuts a promo insisting that the Michigan Athletic Commission has rules and regulations, and if Best Friends don’t have a valid managerial license they need to go to the back.
Referee Bryce Remsburg reluctantly throws them out before our opening contest can begin.
“All Ego” Ethan Page vs. Orange Cassidy
Float over a slam, leapfrog, block the arm drag, Cassidy gets the arm drag and then dives on Page! Back inside, Orange with a diving crossbody, only good for one! All Ego with a big shoulder block, forcing Cassidy’s hands in his pockets and then punching him in the breadbasket!
Deadlift into a vertical suplex, walking Orange around the ring before dropping him and flexing, laying in the ropes as we go to break.
Back from commercial, Orange walks into a roundhouse kick and a brainbuster... BUT HE KICKS OUT! Page staying on him, getting him up for Ego’s Edge, Cassidy tries to counter by putting his hands in his pockets and he succeeds! Ethan with a forearm, back up for the poewrbomb but Orange reverses with a Frankensteiner into the turnbuckles!
Up top, Page cuts him off, military press into a powerslam... NOPE! Drawing him up, flipping the crowd the bird, Cassidy reverses with Stundog Millionaire! Body slam blocked, satellite DDT connects but All Ego won’t stay down! Dan Lambert runs interference, Orange “slaps” him a bunch and takes his drink from him, taking a long pull off of it.
Duck a lariat, Orange Punch connects, orange mist to Dan, another Orange Punch and a scoop lift...
Orange Cassidy wins by pinfall with a body slam.
Best Friends come back out to celebrate with Orange.
Back from commmercial, Tony Schiavone introduces Christian Cage for an interview on the stage.
He says management has asked him to apologize for the insensitive comments he made about Jungle Boy’s family last week, and he’s never apologized for anything before, and he’s sorry that Jack’s entire family isn’t dead and had to see him end him in the ring two weeks ago on Dynamite.
Well, everybody except his mom, who he wants to call him. Christian runs Detroit down and he’s interrupted by some evil organ music and pyro, and Luchasaurus appears.
Luchasaurus vs. Serpentico
Luchasaurus cracks a headbutt into the snake man and things go worse from there...
Luchasaurus wins by submission with a cutthroat STF with a trapezius claw.
Post-match, Luchasaurus attacks Serpentico some more.
We get a backstage face-to-face between Wardlow and Scorpio Sky.
Wardlow is done talking, he’s sick of this, he wants Sky to bring all of American Top Team because he’ll treat them like security then beat his ass and take the title home. Scorpio says since he’s so tough, he’ll make the match a street fight next week.
Danhausen gets on the mic during his entrance.
Danhausen says Danhausen heard the Ass Boys challenge him to find partners and he found some guys who are pretty good at wrestling— FTR!
Ass Boys (Austin & Colten Gunn) & Max Caster vs. Danhausen & FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood)
Austin and Cash to start, collar and elbow and Gunn wins the exchange, off the ropes, drop down, Wheeler gets tripped up, comes back with an atomic drop, tag to Harwood, snap suplex, elbow drop, only one! Quick tags, working Gunn over, Danhausen ends up on the wrong end of townhausen and we go to breakhausen.
Back from commercial, Harwood with the hot tag, lighting everyone up with punches, stereo German suplexes from FTR to the Gunns, rolling into three each of them total! Running hot, tag to Danhausen, kicks, fireman’s carry, Anthony Bowens is healed up and slides in the ring with a crutch but accidentally blasts the Gunn that’s in the ring with it!
Danhausen makes the cover...
Danhausen & FTR win by pinfall with a lateral press from Danhausen on the legal Gunn.
Post-match the babyfaces tear Bowens’ wheelchair apart and the Gunns confront the Acclaimed but Billy shoves his own sons down!
Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal, and Satnam Singh cut another promo demanding Samoa Joe put the ROH World Television Championship on the line.
Jade Cargill (c) vs Leila Gray (AEW TBS Championship)
Cargill with an armbar, knee lifts, scoop and a slam! Front kick, Gray fires up, charges in the corner, step-up knee but the bulldog is blocked and Jade drops her with a pump kick! Double chickenwing...
Jade Cargill wins by pinfall with Jaded to retain the AEW TBS Championship.
Post-match, Jade gets on the mic and says she’s tired of fans and women in the back bitching and moaning, and tells Stokely Hathaway to give her some real competition next time.
Stoke says she’s fired up and he knows why— last night at 11:49 pm she gave an opportunity to everyone in that locker room and the woman that stepped up doesn’t even work here. Kris Statlander? Athena? You’re not overlooked, you’re just lazy.
Enter Athena and Kris Statlander, sliding in the ring to attack Jade and Kiera Hogan! Shotgun dropkick takes Cargill out, Athena up top but Leila Gray attacks her and helps Jade and Kiera beat the babyfaces down! Afterwards, Gray goes for a handshake but gets cold-shouldered by Cargill and her entourage.
An ad for AEW Grand Slam follows and we go to break.
Back from commercial, the Young Bucks cut a promo.
They talk about how they’re still unhappy and ask where their friends are— reDRagon and Adam Cole are all hurt and not cleared, and it’s not even Brandon Cutler behind the camera tonight. They don’t have even one friend left here, except the tag titles. They heard that Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI want a title match, and they’ll have to beat them on Rampage first.
Jim Ross makes his entrance to join commentary for the main event.
We get a video package for our main event.
Jericho Appreciation Society make their entrance and we go to break.
Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, & Wheeler YUTA), Eddie Kingston, Ortiz, & Santana vs. Jericho Appreciation Society (“Cool Hand” Ange Parker, Chris Jericho, “Red Death” Daniel Garcia, Jake Hager, “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard, & Sammy Guevara) (Blood & Guts Match)

Guevara tries to climb the rigging but Castagnoli pulls him down and crotches him! Quadruple jumping away, Sammy just trying to run the clock out at this point, clubbing Claudio in the turnbuckles!
Double leg, giant swing but Daniel Garcia gets the nod to enter the match and cuts him off and beats him down to send us to break.

Choking Jericho’s boys with their bandanas, putting boots to them, Claudio throws Red Death into the cage as the timer ticks...
Jake Hager comes in, high-angle twisting spinebuster on YUTA, Claudio press slams Daniel into the ring next to him and the two big men square up! Punch for punch, Garcia joins the fray and helps Hager overwhelm Castagnoli. YUTA with a missile dropkick to take Jake off his feet, Claudio joins him but eats the twisting spinebuster!

Stacking the younger men up in the corner, lariats ahoy, Crash Landing on Guevara, wicked crossface to Garcia! Castagnoli with a bulldog to Hager on the chair, Mox raking Red Death’s face on the cage... HE’S GOT A FORK AND HE SPIKES GARCIA WITH IT, GASHING HIS FOREHEAD OPEN!
YUTA with a diving splash to Guevara, elbows in triplicate from the entire Blackpool Combat Club as the timer ticks and Ange Parker enters next! Keeping his distance, rolling through to get the chair, running away but Castagnoli catches him with a gutwrench in the turnbuckles and hits the Karelin lift!
Wheeler with a Michinoku Driver, the Blackpool boys tossing him around and showing off! Jericho’s boys get back in the fight, the timer ticks, Parker tries to keep Ortiz out of the ring but fails and Angel comes in with lariats for everybody and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Matt Menard has joined the fray and the Jericho Appreciation Society is running hot as we get footage of Moxley piledriving Parker on broken glass! Jon has paper stapled to him, Menard grinding him into the cage wall, beating him down, the timer ticks and Santana enters the match with a table and a barbed wire bat!
Holy hell Angelo Parker is wearing the crimson mask from the piledriver, Claudio destroys Sammy with Swiss Death, Moxley james a handful of skewers into Menard’s forehead! The timer counts down and Chris Jericho comes in with Floyd! Ortiz meets him and cuts him off and chokes him with a chair!
Castagnoli plants Parker with the Alpamare Waterslide! The timer ticks down one last time and Eddie Kingston comes in with a kendo stick and beats Jericho down with it! He opens a bottle of rubbing alcohol but Hager cuts him off before he can use it! Tay Conti james the bottle through the cage so Y2J can use it, Claudio and Ortiz try to set up a table between the rings and powerbomb Hager into it together!
Moxley opens another bag with YUTA and they dump them out... IT’S THUMBTACKS BABY! Castagnoli and Ortiz peel the canvas and pad back as Moxley hits a Crash Landing on Menard into the tacks! Sammy puts Claudio into the wall, Parker is hanging bloody from the scaffolding on the outside of the cage and we gotta go to break!
Back from commercial, Jericho has the Walls of Jericho on Jon Moxley in the tacks but Eddie Kingston is making his way over to break it up! He’s got the barbed wire bat, Jericho sprays him with a fire extinguisher and Tay Conti bum rushes Rick Knox for the keys to unlock the door but Ruby Soho evens the odds!
Chris climbs atop the cage, Eddie follows and they brawl atop the cage! Biting Y2J’s ear... BACKFIST TO THE FUTURE LAYS HIM OUT ATOP THE CAGE! Sammy climbs the cage while Kingston crawls to Jericho! Guevara cuts him off, grinding Eddie’s face into the grating atop the cage, but Kingston recovers... AND THROWS SAMMY OFF THE CAGE AND INTO THE TIMEKEEPER’S TABLE AND WE GO TO BREAK!
Back from commercial, Kingston and Jericho are still fighting on top of the cage, brawling, Chris wants the Walls and gets them! Claudio climbing the cage to join in the fun and he blasts Y2J with a running boot! Menard climbing up now too, Castagnoli swings Jericho on top of the cage and steps through for the Shapshooter but Daddy Magic cuts him off!
Menard wants to piledrive Claudio on the cage but he reverses! Kingston has the Stretch Plum on Y2J! Castagnoli has the Sharpshooter! Menard taps!
Blackpool Combat Club, Eddie Kingston, Ortiz, & Santana win by submission with the Sharpshooter from Claudio Castagnoli on Matt Menard.
Post-match, Eddie stares in disbelief and frustration that Claudio got the win over him.
The babyface team collects atop the cage to celebrate. Eddie reluctantly lifts Claudio’s hand in victory.
Commentary hypes up Royal Rampage this Friday.
That’s the show, folks.
