AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JUNE 1
I know that time is made out of plastic and not really free from crime as it is understood. Like any jaguar god in the month of pox, vomiting blood all over vultures and liveblogging this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with the intro video.
CM Punk & FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. Ass Boys (Austin & Colten Gunn) & Max Caster
Harwood starting against the Gunn who doesn’t have a topknot, off the ropes, slide under, back elbow, tag to Wheeler, heels working quick tags on him, but Cash gets Caster over and tags Punk in! The champ’s rally doesn’t last, however, and the heels work Harwood over at length to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Harwood gets away, tag to Punk, in hot with slams, swinging neckbreaker, Wheeler takes the other two out with a plancha, CM up top, calling for the Macho elbow... AND IT CONNECTS! Sleepytime, Billy Gunn gets on the apron and squares up with Punk, crotch chop, schoolboy for two!
Front kick, CM powerbombs no topknot into his dad! Tag, Go to Sleep, Big Rig...
CM Punk & FTR win by pinfall with Big Rig from FTR on the Ass Boy who doesn’t have a topknot.
Post-match, Punk gets on the mic.
He says the magical thing about him being him is knowing he’s still got a lot of work to do and getting better is what the championship is all about. He wouldn’t be here if his road to success wasn’t littered with mistakes but goddamnit he’s here to learn. That’s what it’s all about, positive mental energy, but tonight he’s the champ.
Dax Harwood wants to get serious for a minute and says pro wrestling means the world to him with his beautiful wife and baby girl in the crowd and those are the only two things in the world that mean more than pro wrestling and being the ROH World Tag Team Champions to him.
He guesses what he’s saying is Finlay, get your ass out here and they’ll kick your ass. Punk says that brings us to New Japan Pro Wrestling, and he’s standing here with two of the best and they got a pay-per-view to sell, so he knows you’re back there, so show him who he’s got...
HIROSHI TANAHASHI IS HERE!
Commentary hypes up the card and Maxwell Jacob Friedman makes his entrance.
MJF gets on the mic and says if you want to talk, he’ll talk, but this is Max Friedman talking. Lot of executives here tonight, would be a real shame if something bad happened, real embarrassing, and speaking of embarrassing, Tony Khan’s been trying real hard to make a sitdown happen but it’s too little, too late.
When this company here started, everybody got handed stories except for him, and he created moment after moment without getting any respect. No one is on his level and everything he touches turns to gold. He hits grand slams on a weekly basis and all the other boys settle for being great but he has to be perfect, because he’s 26 and constantly held under a microscope because he’s the only one who can carry this company on his back like he has for months.
He asks where the fans were this whole weekend when they were calling him an unprofessional piece of shit, and if you want his spot you can have it because he doesn’t wanna be here anymore. He says we call ourselves fans but we’re actually uneducated marks, sitting on our phones tweeting our opinions (I only tweet wrestling from my laptop, pally) but we don’t know shit.
Our opinions suck and change at the drop of a dime. He says we pretended he sucked in a ring (I think I’m on the record as saying that you’ve been very good from the first time I saw you, sir) for a long time, and why? Because he doesn’t pretend to watch New Japan or dump his opponents on their heads?
He’s the best in the world and he’s not going to pretend otherwise. He’s a generational talent and we take him for granted, but it’s not just you, it’s the big man in the back, too. He says he’s the second biggest minute-for-minute draw in the company, ask Tony Khan, but don’t ask him to pay the man who’s been working hard since day one.
No, he hoards all that money so he can give it to all the new ex-WWE signings who can’t lace his boots. Maybe you don’t get it, here’s the problem with Tony Khan, he’s in a position of power but the only position he should be in is in the crowd with these goofs.
So he’ll make it easy, he wants Tony to fire him, you— at this point he trails off into cursing that gets censored and then his mic gets cut and we go to break.
Back from commercial, commentary hypes up Forbidden Door and we get a recap of Tanahashi showing up to challenge Punk.
Johnny Elite makes his entrance for his open challenge.
Cut to Miro stepping out of the darkness and cutting a promo about becoming closer to his god and returning to AEW to help his fellow men and redeem them all and come back to the kingdom of heaven. But he no longer wishes to come home, he wants to come and take his, and the Redeemer is back.
MIRO IS ANSWERING THE CHALLENGE!
Johnny Elite vs. Miro
Elite with a rolling solebutt, Miro drops him and roars, putting boots to him, turns into forearms in the ropes and punches in the corner, the Redeemer well in charge as we go to break.
Back from commercial, Miro hits a Bossman Slam, calling for it, Elite sidesteps the Machka Kick, brawling in the corner, springboard roundhouse, standing shooting star press... NOPE! Game Over applied, Miro falls back...
Miro wins by submission with Game Over.
We get a recap of Anarchy in the Arena.
Chris Jericho makes his entrance alongside 2.0 and Jake Hager.
Angelo Parker gets on the mic and announces their domination of Anarchy in the Arena and therefore they demand to be appreciated. Matt Menard gets on the mic and screams about how nobody does it better. Chris Jericho says we deserve the Jericho Appreciation Society because they won, but winning is not without a price. They got battered and beaten and Eddie Kingston poured gasoline all over him.
Bryan Danielson threatened to kick his head in but Jake Hager choked him out and he lost the match.
Enter Eddie Kingston and William Regal.
Kingston is fighting mad and gets on the mic saying he’ll fight all of them right now, he doesn’t care. He hands the mic to Regal and he says three simple words: BLOOD. AND. GUTS.
Jericho says he’s not getting Blood and Guts and he sics the other JAS boys on him, who tie him up in knots and beat him down on the floor, but Ortiz appears behind him and wallops him with the madball before cutting a lock of his hair and making his escape!
That’s enough to fire Chris up and give him Blood and Gust! But he wants something too, you want to cut his hair? He’s gonna shave Ortiz bald first, Jericho vs. Ortiz, hair vs. hair!
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial we get a clip of Samoa Joe getting attacked by Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, and Satnam Singh after his match on Sunday.
Christian Cage, Darby Allin, Jurassic Express (“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry), & Matt Hardy vs. HIKULEO & Undisputed Elite (Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly, Matt Jackson, & Nick Jackson)
Perry and O’Reilly to start, a little back and forth mat grappling, tags to Fish and Cage, babyfaces with an edge, tag to Hardy, he and Christian have a chat and double-team Bobby! Shove off, solebutt, tags to Cage and Matt Jackson, trading punches, into the corner and Christian beats him down.
Slingshot to the floor for a slap, up top, Fish runs interference, Allin cuts him off and Jack takes him to the floor with a headscissors! Christian off the top, the match breaks down and Nick takes Cage out with a superkick and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Cage manages to hit a double inverted DDT on the Bucks and reaches for the tag! Luchasaurus legal, beating Nick Jackson down, posing in the turnbuckles, goozle but Nick slips out and lights him up with strikes! Back roll, headscissors, Jungle Boy with a flip piledriver!
Chokeslam, standing moonsault, HIKULEO makes the save! He comes in, trading goozles, tags to Darby and Kyle! Allin with palm strikes, uppercuts, the standing Diamond Dust on KOR and he tags out to HIKULEO! Low bridge sends the big man to the floor, he catches a Coffin Drop and Fish kicks Allin in the breadbasket!
Chasing the Dragon takes Darby out, Hardy smashes Matt’s face into the turnbuckles and gives the same to Nick and then to Kyle! Sidestepping a charge from HIKULEO, Christian with a missile dropkick, Twist of Fate and they send the big man to the floor where Cage nails him with a spear as the match breaks down again!
Superkick Party, BTE Trigger, Total Elimination, Meltzer Driver... IT’S OVER!
HIKULEO & Undisputed Elite win by pinfall with a Meltzer Driver from the Young Bucks on “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry.
Post-match, Christian and Matt Hardy help Jungle Boy up and he and Cage talk a bunch while we get a recap of the tag title match.
Keith Lee and Shane Strickland are interviewed with a whole entourage of guys that Swerve introduces us all to.
Tony Schiavone introduces Athena and welcomes her to AEW.
She says she can finally say she’s All Elite and it’s not a surprise why she’s here. The competition of the top-tier AEW women’s division and specifically dominant TBS Champion Jade Cargill. She wants to have a real talk moment, because all streaks are made to be broken and she’s the one to break hers.
You can say this or that, but she’s the Fallen Goddess, the alpha and the—
Jade Cargill comes down with Stokely Hathaway and her Baddies and informs us that she’s That Bitch and introduces the best talker in the game, Big Stoke.
Hathaway complains about being interrupted and says it’s his job as her publicist to let everyone know that she’s a queen, a goddess, our TBS Champion. He knows she wants her little title shot, but not today, and Kiera Hogan gets in Athena’s face and they jaw at each other.
Anna Jay and Kris Statlander come down to even the odds, and Stokely separates everybody, soon reinforced by referees and a road agent as we go to break.
JD Drake vs. Wardlow
Drake right in with chops, hammering Wardlow in the corner but he turns him around and slams him before starting in on the powerbombs..
Wardlow wins by pinfall with the Powerbomb Symphony.
Tony Schiavone goes to interview Mr. Mayhem but “Smart” Mark Sterling comes marching in with security and serves him a class action lawsuit on behalf of the American Arena Security Professionals.
Wardlow takes it very seriously and powerbombs the security guard who served him and jams the papers in his mouth!
Scorpio Sky is interviewed backstage with Dan Lambert and “All Ego” Ethan Page.
Lambert says nobody can deny Dante Martin’s potential, but Sky has already fulfilled his potential and Scorpio wants him to enjoy his California vacation because on Friday he’s gonna get his ass handed to him.
Martin rolls up and says he thinks he’s already better than he is right now, and on Rampage he’s gonna prove it.
Dr. Britt Baker, DMD & Jamie Hayter vs. Ruby Soho & Toni Storm
Storm and Baker to start, Toni lighting her up in the corner, Britt bails to the floor, back inside, eventually Soho tags in, action to the floor, heels in charge and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Baker and Soho, Britt throws a forearm, butterfly suplex blocked, backslide from Ruby for two! Blocking the tag, Saito suplex, Soho crawls and gets the tag! Hayter in as well, Storm running hot, straight suplex, tornado DDT, Toni goes for another one off the apron but Jamie reverses to a DDT off the apron!
Action to the floor, Britt cleans house and throws them back inside, Hayter with a sliding knee... SO CLOSE! Underhooks, reversed, Toni hits an Alabama Slam, Ruby misses a stomp, Britt with a superkick, Storm with a German suplex, Jamie with a boot, blocking the STO, Rock Bottom backbreaker on Soho!
Britt with underhooks, butterfly suplex, Ruby with a schoolboy for two, wristlock, No Future... NOPE! Looking for Lockjaw, Soho reverses but Jamie fixes it! Shifting, crucifix pin for two! Baker follows it up with a fisherman neckbreaker, Toni pulls Hayter off the apron, inside cradle from Soho, sleeper hold spun out...
Ruby Soho & Toni Storm win by pinfall with a reverse chinlock reverse STO from Soho on Britt Baker.
Post-match, Jamie blasts Ruby with the Owen belt!
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial we see Vince Vaughn and Macaulay Culkin in the crowd because why not.
Daniel Garcia vs. Jon Moxley
Collar and elbow, struggling, Moxley with a hammerlock to a side headlock, shot off, shoulder block, chops corner to corner. Trading chops, Jon with a snapmare, cover into a test of strength, forehead to forehead, Garcia throwing some headbutts and following them with punches to the forehead!
Front kick, underhooks, Daniel rams Jon to the floor and throws him into the steps, reopening his head wound from Sunday and trapping his leg between the steel steps and the ring post before dropkicking them hard into his leg and the post!
Back from commercial, Garcia hits a back superplex on a bloodied Moxley for a two count! Pick the legs, step through, Jon rakes the eyes and sends him sprawling! To the floor, front kick... CRASH LANDING INTO THE STEEL STEPS! Back inside, Mox with lariats, setting Daniel up top... HALF-HALCH SUPERPLEX FOR TWO!
Battering him with overhead elbows, sleeper hold, falling back but Garcia rolls through and lays overhead elbows in of his own! Sleeper hold, bodyscissors, falling back, Jon rolls through, elbows and into a cross armbar! Red Death reverses, deathlock... REGAL STRETCH!

Post-match, Mox gets on the mic and says if they want Blood and Guts, he’ll be there!
That’s the show, folks.
