Shame on the night for places I’ve been and what I’ve seen, for giving me the strangest dreams. But you never let me know just what they mean, so I’m just going to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for these folks.

The show opens with the intro video.

Samoa Joe makes his entrance and the Joker for the men’s tourney is... Johnny “John Morrison” Elite!

Johnny Elite vs. Samoa Joe (Owen Hart Foundation Tournament First Round Match)

Elite with an elbow, Joe grabs a wristlock, Johnny blocks, grappling into the ropes and forced to break! Elite with more elbows, a roundhouse kick, off the ropes, Samoa bowls him over with a shoulder block! Grounding him with a cravate, Johnny with an upkick, a Scorpion Kick, body blows in the ropes, Joe fires back with jabs but Elite wipes him out with a cartwheel lariat!

Samoa to the floor, Jonny perching up top... CORKSCREW SENTON TO THE FLOOR AND WE GO TO BREAK!

Back from commercial, Joe blasts Elite with a shoulder block! Manhattan Drop, off the ropes with a boot, big senton, cover for two! Knee lifts, cover for two, looking for the Muscle Buster but Johnny slips out, moonsault fallaway slam, off the top, 450 splash... NOPE!

Palm strikes, forcing Elite into the corner... MUSCLE BUSTER! IT’S OVER!

Samoa Joe wins by pinfall with the Muscle Buster.

Post-match, Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal run down with a steel pipe to beat Joe down and soften him up for Satnam Singh! Singh lifts him up but Christian Cage and Jurassic Express make the save!

Backstage, the Hardy Boyz are interviewed but the Young Bucks roll up and interrupt and have a confrontation.

They Bucks talk about the Hardyz being banged up and warn them off. The Hardyz call them whiny bitches who will never be better than them.

CM Punk makes his entrance wearing an “abortion rights are human rights” t-shirt because he’s the Best in the World, now and forever, and he joins commentary for this next match.

“Hangman” Adam Page vs. Konosuke Takeshita

Takeshita charges in with a boot, trading forearms, Page with a fallaway slam and action goes to the floor! Dive takes Hangman out, back inside, back suplex, Adam ducks out of it and they end up on the apron. Big chop, Page with the Orihara moonsault and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Takeshita with a huge lariat! Spin-out powerbomb follows it up... STILL NO! Tope con giro to the floor, back inside, Hangman with a knee in the corner, dumps him on the back of his neck with a German suplex and Konsuke gives it right back! Double lariat and both men are down and out!

Trading forearms, Hangman scoops him up... TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER! Buckshot reversed, Chaos Theory blocked, trading elbows, Takeshita with a huge one to block a rolling elbow, Last Ride... HANGMAN WILL NOT STAY DOWN! Sliding knee, cover for two! Bridging German suplex but Konosuke’s neck gives out on him and he can’t keep the pin!

Block the knee, trading rolling elbows, Takeshita springboards and Adam takes him out of midair with a rolling elbow! Setting him up top, Konosuke with a big lariat, Page fires back, rolling elbow... BUCKSHOT! Fireman’s carry... GO TO SLEEP! Slowly rolling him over for the cover, staring CM Punk down...

“Hangman” Adam Page wins by pinfall with a Go to Sleep.

Post-match, Punk stares Page down from the ramp. Hangman holds the title up, they go face to face and circle as the crowd chants for CM. Adam storms off to send us to break.

Back from commercial, we get a video package for Fuego del Sol and his issues with the House of Black and his team-up with the Dark Order to settle the score.

“Limitless” Keith Lee & Shane “Swerve” Strickland vs. WorkHorsemen (Anthony Henry & JD Drake)

Drake and Lee to start, Keith a wristlock, tag to Strickland, JD gets away with a chop and tags Henry in. Leg pick, chest kicks, waistlock, into the corner, Swerve breaks dirty with a solebutt! Charging in, back elbow, passing him out, big diving back elbow, rolling thunder reverse STO but Drake runs in, back suplex!

Chop gets a lariat, tag to Lee and he takes JD out with a crossbody! Henry with a double stomp, nobody home and Keith takes him out with a pounce! Powerbomb lift...

Keith Lee & Shane Strickland win by pinfall with the double stomp / Spirit Bomb combination on Anthony Henry.

Post-match, Lee gets on the mic.

He says he has wonderful news, he and Swerve have become a top five ranked tag team.

Enter Team Taz.

“Absolute” Ricky Starks gets on the mic and says that’s enough talking and Lee and Strickland are two of the most selfish jabronis they’ve ever met and they deserve a tag team title match way more than Keith and Shane. Swerve mocks Starks for dressing like a bar of soap with a pearl necklace—

Enter Jurassic Express and Christian Cage.

Cage gets on the mic and mocks Team Taz and says he gets it, Starks thinks he’s ready for a real championship, but they’re the best and they’re going to challenge both teams to a three-way for the tag titles at Double or Nothing!

Kris Statlander and Red Velvet are interviewed backstage.

Velvet says the ship has sailed on their partnership and she hopes Statlander brings her everything she’s got on Friday.

Kris fires back and Jade rolls up with the rest of her entourage and tells Statlander off before leaving.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman makes his entrance flanked by Shawn Spears.

MJF demands his music be cut, and says unfortunately he’s no longer in Long Island, and dry heaves when he tries to talk about being in Texas tonight. He tells Wardlow that if he lays a finger on him tonight he doesn’t get the match at Double or Nothing and he’ll never sign a contract with AEW.

Wardlow makes his entrance and Max starts whipping him with the belt! One lash, Mr. Mayhem stands tall, a second, he smiles and pops his pecs, three four five six seven Friedman loses his mind and screams about hating him and Spears has to hold him back and takes over the lashes.

Laying more lashes in, these ones actually seem to affect Wardlow, Max wants the last one, big windup and he kciks him in the gentleman’s area before lashing him with the belt again and again and again! Choking him with the belt, Spears pulling his hair, MJF has the Dynamite Diamond Ring and cracks him in the jaw with it!

Shawn Spears hits a Death Valley Driver and MJF counts the pin!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Roppongi Vice cut a promo backstage.

Trent Beretta says they’re back together full-time, and Rocky Romero says they’re coming after the ROH World Tag Team Championship and then the IWGP and AEW tag titles as well. They know FTR are fighting champs and jam-up guys, so what do they say to a title match.

Kyle O’Reilly vs. Rey Fenix (Owen Hart Foundation Tournament First Round Match)

O’Reilly right in, side headlock, trying to grind him down, Fenix with a series of pins for nearfalls, off the ropes, cartwheel, trading kicks, Kyle with an armbar attempt but Rey fights out with punches. Kick up in the corner, up in the turnbuckles, double jump, Fenix takes him out with a springboard roundhouse!

Wild low-angle tope con giro wipes KOR out and Rey throws him back inside! Back inside, dive, O’Reilly catches him with a triangle sleeper, action to the floor and we go to break.

Back from commercial, O’Reilly draws him up, trading forearms, strike rush, Fenix’s knee gives out but he fires up and throws elbows and chops, rolling solebutt, jockeying in the ropes and Rey lands a kick! Springboard side kick, Alabama Slam clutch tossed into a powerbomb... NOPE!

Kyle O’Reilly wins by submission with a cross armbar.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial,

“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson and William Regal make their entrance, followed shortly thereafter by Jon Moxley, who is accompanied by Eddie Kingston, Ortiz, and Santana.

Jericho Appreciation Society make their entrance.

Chris Jericho gets on the mic and says he thought William Regal might be dead by now after all the abuse and wasted potential. With all of his wrestling skills and character he could have been one of the greatest of all time, but he’s been fired from every company he’s ever worked for and weaseled himself into AEW on the coattails of his proteges.

And what a collection of proteges he has! Santana and Ortiz, too stupid to realize he gave them everything they had in AEW. Eddie Kingston, too stupid to go home and take care of his family and his girl, well just have her give Y2J a call. And then you got Bryan Danielson, possibly the greatest wrestler in the world today, but nothing more than a squeaky clean nerd who’s never drank or done a drug in his life.

Well stick with this gang long enough and Regal will have you eating disco biscuits and going to rehab with Moxley.

William Regal says for every single time he was on a show with Jericho, whenever he wasn’t wrestling him, he’d go to his locker and defile his toothbrush. They go back and forth at length and Moxley challenges them to a ten-man anything goes match at Double or Nothing!

Chris accepts the challenge and says the JAS is a well-oiled machine but there’s a lot of issues in the babyface group, and the last time Santana was in the ring with Moxley they were trying to gouge each other’s eyes out. They bring up Danielson’s comments in his feud with Kingston and vice-versa.

Eddie wants a fight now, Jericho walks off, and Bryan gets into a shoving match with Eddie and William Regal has to break it up.

Matt Sydal and Dante Martin are backstage and they cut a promo challenging somebody from the last segment to a tag team match.

Dr. Britt Baker, DMD makes her entrance and Maki Itoh is her joker!

Dr. Britt Baker, DMD vs. Maki Itoh (Owen Hart Foundation Tournament First Round Match)

Hugging to start, Itoh falls down, counters the cradle... SO CLOSE! Baker with a big forearm, Maki cries about it, stomp the foot, off the ropes, falling headbutt, Britt goes for Lockjaw, countered to a pin for two! Off the ropes, Sling Blade, cover for two, mounted punches and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Baker smashes Itoh’s face into the turnbuckles and she shrugs it off! Another try, Maki just fired up, smashing her own head into the turnbuckles a bunch and letting out a primal scream before headbutting Britt! Tornado DDT connects, off the ropes, falling headbutt connects!

Cover, no dice, Baker with a superkick, Lockjaw applied...

Dr. Britt Baker, DMD wins by submission with Lockjaw.

Post-match, Toni Storm makes her entrance and stares Baker down.

Tony Schiavone comes to the ring and hypes up Double or Nothing as AEW’s three-year anniversary.

Serena Deeb interrupts and yells at Tony for picking Thunder Rosa to beat her and says he’s an idiot for it.

Enter Dustin Rhodes.

He confronts Deeb and she calls him a failure, saying he of all people should know what she went through in this business, going through hell just to satisfy some old perverts, going so far as to shave her head and she still gets no respect, and he doesn’t have the balls to tell her to her face why he’d pick Rosa over her.

After she wins, he will respect her, and she slaps him across the face as Thunder makes her entrance. Dustin has to hold her back, Serena gets the title belt and clocks her in the face with it!

And so we go to break.

Adam Cole vs. Jeff Hardy (Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Semifinals)

Cole attacks Hardy during his entrance, into the ring, Jeff brings it to him, big body slam, on the second rope, Adam rolls out of the ring, diving lariat, throwing him back inside but he rolls out the other side! Cole throws him into the steel steps, back inside, lungblower connects!

Smashing Jeff into the turnbuckles, we go to break.

Back from commercial, Hardy with a side Russian legsweep, leg drop press, cover for two. Trading punches, sitout gourdbuster, back elbow, Whisper in the Wind... NOPE! Knee pad down, off the ropes, Jeff ducks the Boom, inverted Twist of Fate, headed up top... NOBODY HOME ON THE SWANTON BOMB!

Cole charges in...

Adam Cole wins by pinfall with the Boom.

Post-match, Matt Hardy gets in Cole’s face, the Young Bucks appear, we get a brawl, Sting and Darby Allin and reDRagon appear, the Elite are gonna Pillmanize Sting’s leg!

That’s the show, folks.
