AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR MAR. 2
Take my hand, I’ll show you how you’ve just one life to live. The road you’re on goes straight to hell, but me? I’m just liveblogging this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with the intro video.
Tonies Schiavone and Khan are in the ring for a major announcement.
Tony Khan says he’s normally the one keeping people on time so he’s gonna make sure we get to the wrestling on time. He thanks all of us for keeping the company going through the pandemic and says tonight is a big night and the biggest week in the history of Dynamite.
He hypes up Revolution and says when they started AEW three years ago it was out of the parking lot here. Well seventeen years before that another company started, Ring of Honor, and he’s been a huge fan so you can imagine how big a deal it is to say that he just signed the contract to buy Ring of Honor!
And going back to the Era of Honor Begins, Christopher Daniels was there, and he and the other man that lost the main event that night are here and ready to kick us off right!
“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. Christopher Daniels
A bit of mat wrestling to start, back and forth on a wristlock, stalemate. Off the ropes, shoulder block, Daniels with an arm drag and posing to taunt Danielson. Bryan with a drop toehold, fishhooking the nose, wrenching the arms into a pin, off the ropes and Christopher hits a leg lariat that sends Dragon to the floor!
Arabian press Asai Moonsault follows! Back inside, crossbody attempt but Danielson kicks him out of the air! Chest kicks follow, Bryan methodically taking him apart with stomps, leg pick into a deathlock, knees to the kidneys and a grounded bow-and-arrow follows!
Daniels with a brief rally, Dragon chops him into the corner, palm strikes, big rolling elbow... NOPE! Fallen Angel looking for the cross-arm Iconoclasm, Bryan blocks, he climbs up to meet him and Danielson shoves him down! Dragon dives and gets caught into a Rock Bottom!
Best Moonsault Ever... COUNTERED INTO THE TRIANGLE CHOKE! Overhead elbows to cut Daniels off from crawling to the ropes...
“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson wins by referee stoppage with a triangle choke.
Post-match, Danielson gets on the mic.
He talks about being in the main event of the first Ring of Honor show and in that time, they started and ended matches with a handshake. He reaches down and grabs Daniels’ hand and asks the crowd to give him a hand. Dragon continues and says he’s not in Ring of Honor, he’s in AEW, and he’s here to kick somebody’s head in!
HE STOMPS CHRISTOPHER’S FACE IN!
Enter Jon Moxley.
He says he’s at a crossroads and what path he takes, and he says he’s gonna take a path through fire and bullets and through Danielson, because at the end of that path he beats the American Dragon. He offers himself up for a free shot and takes his jacket off, Bryan squares up... and then leaves the ring and walks.
Sting is hanging out with Darby Allin and says he’s not worried about Darby in his triple threat despite the “no interference” stipulation, and Allin says he doesn’t need anybody’s help and he and Sammy Guevara are gonna steal the show like they always do.
And so we go to break.

Post-match, the Bucks and reDRagon shake hands and have a good-natured standoff.
Jurassic Express come to the stage to look their challengers in the eye.
Commentary promises us CM Punk up next and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Chris Jericho cuts a promo.
He talks about his conversation with Eddie Kingston last week and says he can’t relate to him because he’s been a big star for so long, but on Sunday he finally gets a chance to win the big one, and in AEW, Chris Jericho IS the big one. If Eddie can beat him, he’ll look him in the eye, shake his hand, and offer his undying respect.
But if he can’t win, and he won’t, he’ll look his pathetic ass in the eye and tell him to GFY.
Ortiz and Santana roll up, Jericho offers a fist and they bump it. He asks if they’re good and they walk off, leaving Y2J to say he’s always got their back.
CM Punk makes his entrance and gets on the mic.
He says he used to splash water on his face every morning and ask himself if he’s the bad guy. He never really had an answer and he believes nobody thinks they’re the bad guy in their own story, and up until a week ago, he was certain that Maxwell Jacob Friedman was THE bad guy.
And what Max did last week takes courage, courage that Punk didn’t think he had. He spoke about a lot of deep and important things, but he can’t shake the feeling that he’s being gaslit. He wants to make it very clear, he doesn’t think MJF is lying and he thinks those things happen, but his questions lie in how sincere Max is.
But the thing is he doesn’t really know if it matters. There’s a famous picture of him with Steve Austin on the internet, and after much lesser men framed Austin as someone who took his ball and went home, he didn’t lash out and do terrible things. In the time since he’s been in AEW, he’s seen MJF knock Dean Malenko, suffering from Parkinson’s out, seen him bury the late great Brian Pillman in his own town.
He’s had to sit back and listen to Max say awful thing about Darby Allin’s Uncle John (#FyeahFIP), and is he really to blame for all these horrible things? Is he Dr. Frankenstein and MJF the Monster? He doesn’t think so, but nothing he can say will have as much impact as something he can do.
And he needs to do that to Max’s face, he wants to have a conversation in front of the world.
MJF makes his entrance, sans music, and gets in the ring.
Punk admits he’s done horrible things and says he used to be Max, so full of hate. He poured alcohol down an alcoholic’s throat, covered a legendary wrestler in his beloved manager’s ashes, mocked a wrestler’s addiction until he lost his job because of it, and all that hate is going to burn him up.
Somewhere out there right now there’s a kid that’s looking up to MJF the same way he looked up to Punk and he might be wrong but he got up this morning and splashed water on his face and asked if he was the good guy and he finally had an answer— he sure is trying.
He offers Max a handshake... AND MJF HUGS HIM! PUNK HUGS BACK! The moment sinks in, feeling pure and true... AND MJF KICKS PUNK SQUARE IN THE GENTLEMAN’S AREA! TO THE ROPES... HEATSEEKER!
Max takes his button-up off and reveals a t-shirt with the picture of him and Punk printed on it! Shawn Spears and Wardlow come to the ring and give MJF the ring... AND HE BLASTS PUNK IN THE HEAD WITH IT!
Laying punches in while FTR run interference, blooding Punk’s forehead, smearing the blood across his shirt and throwing him to the floor! HEADBUTTS ON THE FLOOR Spears puts the dog collar on Punk, Max gets a mic and calls CM Punk a stupid old man and says he’s a snake and on Sunday he’s gonna show all these mindless sheep that he’s the devil himself.
SPEARS PULLS BACK ON THE CHAIN, HANGING PUNK! STING AND DARBY AND SAMMY MAKE THE SAVE!
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, Tony Schiavone interviews Keith Lee.
Before he can answer, Ricky Starks and Will Hobbs roll up. Lee tells him if he interrupts again there won’t be anything left to interrupt again. Starks warns him that Rampage is his turf and he might not make it to Revolution if he shows up on Friday.
Lee says he’ll be there.
Dr. Britt Baker, DMD & Jamie Hayter vs. Mercedes Martinez & Thunder Rosa
Brawling early, the match settles into an easy groove with Baker on the back foot. Turning Martinez around, Sling Blade connects, cover... NOPE! Tag to Hayter, she squares up with Martinez, off the ropes, shoulder blocks, neither woman can move the other but Mercedes prevails!
Backing Jamie into the corner, quick tags, and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Martinez with a hot tag and lariats for everybody, Hayter blocks a powerbomb, sidestep the kick, fisherman suplex, she gets overwhelmed by double-teams and nearly pinned off a rock bottom! Baker follows it with a superkick, arm-trap crossface, Mercedes slips out, hot tag to Rosa!
She and Britt square up, trading forearms, Baker rolls awya from a double-stomp, Thunder reverses a neckbreaker attempt, fireman’s carry into a Death Valley Driver... JAMIE HAYTER BREAKS IT UP! The match breaks down into “everybody do something cool” territory...
Mercedes Martinez & Thunder Rosa win by pinfall with a fire thunder driver from Rosa on Dr. Britt Baker, DMD.
Tay Conti is interviewed backstage when Jade Cargill rolls up.
Anna Jay holds Tay back and “Smart” Mark Sterling reminds her that if she attacks Jade her title match will go up in smoke.
Sammy Guevara comes out to do the cue card gimmick and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Kris Statlander and Leyla Hirsch do dueling promos.
Cezar Bononi vs. Wardlow
Whip across, Wardlow immediately catches him with a powerbomb! Another powerbomb, a third...
Wardlow wins by pinfall with Powerbomb Symphony.
Post-match, Shawn Spears goes to wallop Bononi with a chair but Wardlow stops him short!
They stare each other down, Mr. Mayhem steps up to him and Shawn looks away and backs down, letting Wardlow have his moment.
Commentary hypes up Rampage and Revolution and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Malakai Black says a bunch of cryptic stuff about giving Pentagon new sight and new levels of violence. Brody King joins him to say they represent the parts of the human condition that society has shunned, and Buddy Matthews says they don’t cast judgment, they seek the truth.
They’re the House, and the house always wins.
Wardlow and Shawn Spears are interviewed backstage.
Spears begs off and calls MJF over to give him some good news— if he wins the Face of the Revolution ladder match and wins the TNT Championship, he’ll let him keep the title, but he won’t win anyway. Wardlow says that’s because he’s busy making sure Max wins, and MJF comes over and slaps the taste out of his mouth!
He reminds Wardlow that he doesn’t work for AEW, he works for him, and if he mistakes his kindness for weakness he’ll put his family out in the street.
Adam Cole & reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly) vs. “Hangman” Adam Page & Beaver Boys (Alex Reynolds & John Silver)
Page and Fish to start, Hangman taking it to him and putting boots to him in the corner! Bobby lands a knee and backs him into the corner, tag to O’Reilly, Adam suplexes Fish into him and gets a nearfall! Tag to Silver, trading forearms and kicks with KOR, snap suplex connects and he tags out to Reynolds.
Double rolling leglock, double drop toehold into double dropkicks for Fish when he runs in and Alex nails Kyle with a dropkick! Tag to Cole, punches on the mat, quick tags, Reynolds tags Page back in! KOR books it, Hangman chases him, Fish with a blind tag, back inside and elbow drop sets up a leg snap and now Cole wants in!
Panama Sunrise blocked, Deadeye reversed, trading nearfalls, Hangman rolls through but Cole reverses! Jockeying for position, ducking and dodging, knee pad down, dodge the Boom, Cole rolls to the floor and we go to break!
Back from commercial, O’Reilly is twisting Silver’s limbs but he gets the hot tag to Hangman! Pendulum lariat countered with a normal lariat, Cole tags in and the two Adams trade forearms with vigor! The tag team elements brawl, and the match breaks down!
Reynolds legal, knee pad down, Cole off the ropes...
Adam Cole & reDRagon win by pinfall with the Boom from Cole on Alex Reynolds.
Post-match, Cole beats Alex down some more, Page makes the save, reDRagon try to take the champion out but he fights them off and gets Cole lined up for Buckshot... BOBBY FISH TAKES HIS LEG OUT TO BLOCK! Cole beats Hangman down, reDRagon duct tape him to the ropes and Cole jaws at him!
John Silver rolls back in but he’s too spent to help and reDRagon hit their Total Elimination! Panama Sunrise on Reynolds, Cole kicks Page in the face and puts the title on his shoulder, telling him the belt belongs to him before posing for the crowd.
Hangman slumps, crucified in the ropes.
That’s the show, folks.
