AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR OCT. 12

I remember riding bikes on Koster Island, plotting midnight raids on the Swedish plum trees. That summer, it was too cold to swim, so instead I’m liveblogging this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with the intro video.

Renee Paquette makes her entrance and greets the Toronto crowd before introducing Christian Cage for an interview.

He says it feels great to be back in Toronto and as the face of not only the city of Toronto but the country of Canada, he guarantees a victory tonight. Locked in, 100%, it’s like [local sports reference], and without further ado he introduces his right hand of destruction, Luchasaurus.

“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry vs. Luchasaurus

Luchasaurus trying to throw him around, Perry ducking and dodging, back body drop to the apron, shoulder block, he slingshots over and dropkicks the dino man in the kidneys! Pressing the attack, slingshot to the floor to pop Luchasaurus in the face, block the goozle with an arm wringer.

Back inside, duck a backhand, drop down, caught and spun around into the German suplex! To the floor, Luchasaurus setting a table up, slip out of the powerbomb but the dino man shoves Jungle Boy into the ringpost! Fighting around ringside, throwing Jack into the barricade and apron, pressing the attack as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Perry rolls away from a stomp and dodges Luchasaurus hard into the post! Off the ropes, suicide dive caught, reversed and a Frankensteiner sends the dino man into the post! Fighting on the apron, superkick staggers Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy follows with a shoulder thrust!

Seeing his opening... SUNSET FLIP POWERBOMB OFF THE APRON AND THROUGH THE TABLE! Throwing him back inside, Christian Cage leaves commentary and moves towards Jack but Luchasaurus sits up! Back inside, superkicks, off the ropes, pop-up drop and a lariat! Fireman’s carry, reverse Death Valley Driver... NOPE!

Setting Jack up top, jockeying for position, mounted punches and into the Tree of Woe but Luchasaurus counters with a headscissors driver and a slam in the corner! Chokeslam with the left arm... STILL NO! Off the ropes, caught in the backbreaker rack, reversed... CRUCIFIX DRIVER CAN’T KEEP LUCHASAURUS DOWN!

Killswitch reversed into an electric chair, Poison Frankensteiner spikes the dino man! Hooking him... DINO MAN KICKS OUT OF THE KILLSWITCH! Looking for Snare Trap and Jack has him! Ropes force a break, getting into it with Cage on the floor, Luchasaurus catches him with a slam off the top...

Luchasaurus wins by pinfall with a wrist-clutch Burning Hammer.

Stokely Hathaway and “All Ego” Ethan Page of the Firm are interviewed backstage.

Stokely says he purchased Private Party’s contract to free them, just like Matt Hardy wanted, and Matt gets in All Ego’s face and challenges him to a match with their contracts on the line tonight. Page says he should let his boys fight on their own, and he challenges Isiah Kassidy to a match on Rampage, if he wins, they’re out of their contracts...

...but if Ethan Page wins, the Firm also gets Matt Hardy’s contract. Hardy accepts and gives Kassidy a pep talk and we go to break.

Back from commercial, QT Marshall makes the mistake of making fun of WarJoe as a name for the tag team of Samoa Joe and Wardlow.

The Factory (Nick Comoroto & QT Marshall) vs. WarJoe (Samoa Joe & Wardlow)

The Factory tries and fails to jump WarJoe and Samoa just goes to work on Marshall in the ring! Jabs in the corner, Comoroto tries to pull Joe away but just gets beat up for his trouble. Tag to Wardlow, huge wind-up lariat, Nick in, he eats a series of belly-to-belly suplexes!

Comoroto with some shoulder thrusts in the corner, scoop and a slam, float over, big spinebuster from Mr. Mayhem! Tag to Joe, holding Nick in place for a senton atomico from Wardlow and Samoa locks it down...

WarJoe win by submission with the Coquina Clutch from Samoa Joe on Nick Comoroto.

Joe grabs QT after the match and throws him over for the Powerbomb Symphony!

Prince Nana and the Embassy make their entrance and Nana asks the crowd to take a look at WarJoe.

He says they stuck their nose in Embassy business and Brian Cage says nobody wants to see Wardlow powerbomb QT Marshall and nobody wanted them sticking their nose in Embassy business when they were attacking FTR next week. Are FTR even here this week? If it was up to him they wouldn’t even be allowed in Canada!

Enter FTR.

Dax Harwood gets on the mic and gets drowned out by the crowd cheering for FTR. He says there’s three of them and he can’t ask WarJoe to work Friday too, so they have the perfect partner, an Ontario native and Rampage starts at 10, he’s the pinnacle of professional wrestling.

Shaun Spears gets the biggest pop of his life and marches down to the ring, throwing Aaron Solo into the ring for a Big Rig!

Chris Jericho and 2.0 are interviewed backstage.

Angelo Parker says Bryan Danielson is garbage and made this personal by trying to poach Daniel Garcia and broke up their happy family. Matt Menard calls Garcia out and says they served him a giant steaming piece of humble pie. Chris says Daniel is family to them, and Danielson forced him to hurt his little brother last week.

Garcia hasn’t been returning calls or texts, and tonight he’s going to be the Lionheart and outwrestle and outfight Bryan and leave T-Dot the ROH World Champion still.

“Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn vs. Shane “Swerve” Strickland

Gunn in control early, shoulder block, hesitating before deciding not to show his ass off, off the ropes, more shoulders and he wriggles his trunks down but keeps them over his cheeks! Back elbow, springboard basement dropkick from Strickland and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Strickland working the leg, uppercut to the hamstring, float out of a suplex, shoving Gunn to the floor! Plancha knee drop to the injured leg and Shane is feeling it! Body blows, off the ropes, tilt-a-whirl slam from Daddy Ass! Pressing the attack, big nearfall from Swerve and he lies in wait but gets shoved away!

Roll through, Cobra Clutch Slam reversed, Shane in the ropes but the referee doesn’t see it...

Shane Strickland wins by pinfall with a lateral press and a handful of ropes.

Post-match, the Acclaimed come to check on Daddy Ass while Strickland walks off crotch chopping the night.

“Smart” Mark Sterling comes down with Tony Nese.

He says the Acclaimed must have been ignoring their email because he’s got a very important document. Tony says it’s been issued by the greatest country in the world, the United States of America, and Sterling says he has the copyright on the phrase “scissor me” in pro wrestling, so he makes all of the money from their merch and they can’t say it anymore.

They go to scissor anyway, Mark tells them to stop before deciding to tell them to do it and he’ll sue them. But actually maybe they can work something out, but until then he asks Daddy Nese to scissor him.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman is interviewed backstage.

Before he can explain last week, Stokely Hathaway rolls up to crow about them beating Wheeler YUTA up. Max makes like it’s all fun and games but says Daddy has to put Stokely on time out, and he’s got two strikes, so if he does it again he’s fired, and for job security purposes he should get his Carlton Banks-ass wardrobe out of his shot, buh-bye.

As for William Regal, the Villain, in his world he’s about as villainous as Mary Poppins. They have a dark past and he’s sure Regal doesn’t want to be reminded up. As far as YUTA goes, he doesn’t have a goddamn clue what it’s like to be him and knowning he has no choice but to be the bad guy every morning.

He’s broken his hand many a times punching his own reflection. You don’t like him? He doesn’t like him either, but that’s what it takes to become world champion, and he WILL become world champion, because he’s the man with the plan, the man with the chip, and the man who is a generational talent.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Tony Schiavone introduces Jon Moxley for an in-ring interview.

He says it’s good to be in Toronto after three years, and for much of those three years he’s been AEW World Champion. They’ve come from far and wide, all sizes shapes and styles to try and knock him down off the mountain but they ain’t walked a mile in his shoes. Being world champion isn’t fun and games, it ain’t easy, and everybody wants something from you.

You live every day in physical pain and sooner or later you crumble, some faster than others. The world champion doesn’t have the luxury of being anxious or fear or doubt or hesitation, being world champion is a dirty, dirty job and you gotta be ruthless and indiscriminate.

But goddamn he loves this job! That brings him to our boy, the cowboy, “Hangman” Adam Page.

Enter “Hangman” Adam Page.

He says that whatever Moxley has to say, he wants him to say it to his face. But actually he said it all last week, he said that he respects him in the ring and as a person, and coming from Jon that meant the world to him. He’s watched Mox these past three years and he’s come to respect who he is in the ring and as a person.

There have been times in the past three years when he’s looked at Moxley and seen the kind of man he wanted to be. But last week, he shattered the illusions he had when he called him a nice kid. Is that how he feels, that he’s a kid? He demands Mox answer him, and Jon says that’s exactly what he thinks about him.

He doesn’t think Page is the same guy that knocked him off a twenty foot ladder a year ago, and he doesn’t think he has it in his guts to pull the trigger. Hangman admits he may not be the same guy he was last year. He hesitated in May and it cost him the title. He went for the trios championship with his best friends, and he has to watch them disappear week to week.

His old friends HAVE disappeared, and he’s left with nothing, but he’s still here because he’s a man. He’s 31 years old, a former world tag team champion and a former world champion, he’s seen family members lowered into the ground and seen new life brought into the world.

He’s a husband and a father and he’s been beatend down and he keeps coming back because he’s a maaaaaaaaaan. (He punched himself in the face repeatedly during the word man. Boys, huh? Testosterone’s weird.) He’s gonna do what it takes next week and he’s going to take back the thing he never should have let slip away.

He has nothing but a shot and his word. Tuesday he takes his shot and tonight he gives his word— he’ll be the next AEW World Champion. And unlike MJF, he wanted to come out here and tell Moxley that face to face, man to man. Jon fumes as Adam goes to leave, and they make eye contact one more time, with a little nod.

“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. “Lionheart” Chris Jericho (c) (ROH World Championship)

Code of Honor denied, schoolboy from Danielson for two! Uppercuts for chops, repeated headbutts, knee lifts in the ropes, whip reversed, dropkick countered into a catapult and Jericho crashes over the ropes and to the floor! Off the ropes, suicide dive connects and Bryan slams him on the floor!

Back inside, fighting in the corner, Lionheart with a Frankensteiner and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Danielson with a forearm to the kidneys, Jericho throwing his own forearms and chops, whip reversed, big DDT from the Lionheart! Action to the floor and back in, Chris perches and gets cut off in the turnbuckles! Underhooks... BUTTERFLY SUPERPLEX ROLLED RIGHT INTO THE LEBELL LOCK!

Elbows to the obliques, wrenching the hold in, Daddy Magic and Angelo Parker circling the ring concerned, Jericho rolls him over and grabs his legs, locking the Walls of Jericho in! Reversed, raining elbows down on the champion, Dragon grabs his legs and gets his own Boston Crab!

Jericho reverses into a small package but Danielson kicks out and lands a flash roundhouse kick! Overhead elbows, Lionheart stands up... DEATH VALLEY DRIVER CAN’T KEEP THE AMERICAN DRAGON DOWN! Diving knees off the top, keeping Chris off-balance, but the third gets countered into a Codebreaker... STILL NO!

Off the ropes, duck a lariat, duck a roundhouse, Jericho shoves Danielson into referee Paul Turner! Stereo lariats and both men are down and out! Chris grabs the title belt and stands ready to wield it... DANIEL GARCIA MAKES THE SAVE! He jaws at Jericho, they trade shoves, and Dragon hits the Busaiku Knee!

GARCIA CLOCKS DANIELSON WITH THE PURE TITLE! Parker shoves Turner back in the ring, Jericho staggers into a cover...

Chris Jericho wins by pinfall with a lateral press to retain the ROH World Championship.

Post-match, Garcia embraces Jericho and 2.0 and clinks titles with the world champion.

Blackpool Combat Club storm down the ramp to check on Danielson and Wheeler YUTA gets in Daniel’s face briefly as he leaves.

Nyla Rose is interviewed backstage with the TBS Championship belt around her waist.

Renee Paquette points out that she’s not actually the champion, but Rose says she is the law and possession is 9/10s thereof.

Anna Jay rolls up to challenge Nyla to a match on Rampage so she can win and show Rose and Jade Cargill what a real champion looks like. Rose tells Anna if she shows up on Friday she’ll whip her ass, and we go to break.

Hikaru Shida & Toni Storm vs. Team DMD (Dr. Britt Baker, DMD & Jamie Hayter)

Shida and Hayter to start, collar and elbow and Hikaru shoves her away! Jamie coming in clubbing, big chop in the ropes, Storm tags in and Baker runs interference to get Hayter in control as we go to break!

Back from commercial, Shida in on Baker, ducking and dodging, wristlock elbows to the jaw from Hikaru! Whip across, big knee, into a spot of “everybody do something cool” action, Baker gets the stomp but Toni breaks it up! Getting Britt in the corner, tornado DDT, sliding elbow from Shida, Storm Zero but Hayter clobbers her into Hikaru to break it up!

Inside cradle for two, looking for Lockjaw in the aftermath but Shida reverses into a pin! Trading nearfalls...

Hikaru Shida & Toni Storm win by pinfall with a victory roll pin from Shida on Dr. Britt Baker, DMD.

Commentary hypes up our next week of cards and we get a Butcher and Blade promo where they call Blackpool Combat Club a couple of crumbs and shout “FIGHT US!” at the camera a bunch before we go to break.

Orange Cassidy vs. PAC (c) (AEW All-Atlantic Championship)

PAC right in with kicks, shoved off, uppercut in the corner, whip across, pump kick in the corner and Cassidy is having a bad time. Stuffing Orange’s hands in his pockets, the Bastard does the mocking kicks but gets nailed with a dropkick for his trouble! Cassidy off the ropes, dive caught... FALCON ARROW ON THE FLOOR AND PAC BLOWS A SNOT ROCKET AT ORANGE AFTER, SENDING US TO BREAK!

Back from commercial we get a recap of PAC hitting a Tombstone Piledriver on the ramp and see Orange rolling his way down to try and beat the count... AND HE DOES! The Bastard catches him in the Brutalizer immediately but Cassidy struggles and shakes and gets a foot on the ropes for the break!

Dive into a tornado DDT, Orange running hot, back inside, Orange Punch... PAC KICKS OUT! To the apron... BEACH BREAK! Back inside, lying in wait, Orange Punch countered into a suplex and then the Brutalizer is back on! The Bastard bleeding from the ear something fierce, he goes to grab the title but Danhausen stops him and curses him!

PAC blasts Danhausen with an elbowhausen, snot rocket, and referee Bryce Remsburg is right behind him to take the contraband bell hammer from him! The Bastard goes under the ring for another hammer but Orange cracks a right hand into his jaw! He picks the hammer up, Bryce warns him, Cassidy gives him the hammer and kicks out of a schoolboy!

Orange Punch connects...

Orange Cassidy wins the AEW All-Atlantic Championship by pinfall with an Orange Punch.

Best Friends hit the ring ot celebrate and do the snap zoom hug with our new champ.

That’s the show, folks.
