AEW’s new video game looks very good

Pro wrestling and video games practically go hand-in-hand, which is why many AEW fans are eagerly anticipating the eventual release of the company’s new console video game. Earlier this year, there was some hope that the game could be launched in the first quarter of 2022.

In June, we got a sneak peek at Darby Allin’s character model for the game, as well as his Coffin Drop. But any game updates since then have been hard to find, other than the fact that Tony Khan is investing a ton of money into the project.

With that in mind, AEW Games has finally released a new episode of 2.Show that was taped over All Out weekend.

Aubrey Edwards spends a significant amount of time discussing new CM Punk content coming to the AEW Elite General Manager mobile game. But at the very end of the episode, Jungle Boy’s character model for the console game is revealed. There is also some footage of Jungle Boy forcing Darby Allin to tap out in the Snare Trap. Go ahead and check it out for yourself:

The game looks pretty good to me so far, though it’s very possible that Jungle Jack’s virtual body hair is clouding my brain. My main concern is that Darby Allin and Jungle Boy might be the only two wrestlers in the game so far, which could mean the launch date is a long way off.

Are you impressed with what you’ve seen so far from AEW’s upcoming console video game, or are you left unsatisfied by the content that has been revealed?
