The Fallen Angel has found his groove. Christopher Daniels won his return match in Impact Wrestling.

“I’m a fighter. I believe in the eye-for-an-eye business. I’m no cheek turner. I got no respect for a man who won’t hit back. You kill my dog, you better hide your cat.”

Daniels made a surprise appearance last week to help Christian Cage and Josh Alexander against Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. That set up CD’s match against Fulton this week.
Daniels explained that his motivation to return was curiosity about the Forbidden Door. He also teased a larger picture when dishing pleasantries with Christian Cage and Josh Alexander. Daniels isn’t there just to be a good guy friend. He has an agenda.

Once the opening bell rang, Daniels showed he still has the skills to compete at 51 years of age. CD utilized a stick and move strategy with quick kick and slick counters against the powerful Fulton. That didn’t always work out, as evidenced by a 15-second delayed vertical suplex from Fulton.
Daniels maintained his composure to knock Fulton out of the ring and connect on an Arabian moonsault.

Daniels kept the pressure on with a slingshot elbow drop, a counter DDT, a leaping hurricanrana, and an STO. Even though it was Daniels’ night to shine, he made Fulton look good by taking his heavy moves. Madman had Daniels in trouble after a tilt-a-whirl powerslam.
The two competitors tussled in the ropes. As the referee stepped in for separation, Ace Austin pounded punches on Daniels. Josh Alexander ran down to dispose of Ace. Daniels took advantage for a flying STO on Fulton. He closed it out with a Best Moonsault Ever to win.

Daniels showed that he definitely has the star power to light up the Impact Zone. If he can consistently keep that level of performance, then plenty of intriguing matchups await. Daniels could dance with flashy youngsters like Trey Miguel, international visitors like Laredo Kid, Impact legends like Chris Sabin, and the list goes on.
Did this match show you that Daniels still has it?
