AEW released their latest rankings (Sep. 29, 2021). Even though this batch was not available prior to last night’s Dynamite, the rankings do not reflect the results from that show. Let’s check out the movers and shakers.
Will Hobbs took it on the chin in defeat to CM Punk last week, so he slid from #2 to #5. Orange Cassidy remains #1, while the rest rose one spot accordingly.
The biggest change going forward will be Sammy Guevara moving to the champion side with the TNT title after dethroning Miro. The Redeemer still has an impressive record at 13-1. He should be in the top 5 next week.
Orange Cassidy’s hair won’t be the only thing of value when wrestling Jack Evans in hair versus hair on Friday night Rampage. A loss by OC would knock him down a peg from #1. It might not matter much anyway, since next week’s Dynamite will feature a Casino Ladder Match with a world title shot as the prize.
Ruby Soho is out at #1 after losing to Dr. Britt Baker DMD. Due to a fresh 1-1 record, she has work to do to get back in the mix. The top four moved up one spot accordingly with Thunder Rosa claiming the top. Kris Statlander is back in contention at #5.
Thunder Rosa has quite the challenge to stay at #1. She will compete in an Anything Goes three-way on Rampage against #2 Jade Cargill and the unranked but always dangerous Nyla Rose. If Thunder Rosa or Cargill earn the win, that should be strong enough to demand a title shot.
FTR’s loss to Darby Allin & Sting dropped them from #3 to #5. Gunn Club and Private Party were beneficiaries of that result.
Do you agree with AEW’s rankings this week? If not, what would you change?
