Raw beats Dynamite

AEW Dynamite

The ratings and viewership data are in for last night’s (Sept. 22) episode of AEW Dynamite.

Per ShowBuzzDaily, Dynamite netted 1,273,000 viewers for a 0.48 rating point in the 18-49 year old demographic. The numbers are up from last week’s results of 1,175,000 and 0.44 in these respective metrics. Dynamite ranked number one in the key demo rating on cable last night.

Coming in to this week’s “Grand Slam” episodes, Dynamite was on a two week winning streak over WWE Raw in terms of total viewers in the key demographic. That streak came to an end this week with Raw (0.49) edging out Dynamite (0.48) by a similar margin to Dynamite’s ratings victories in the prior weeks. It wasn’t as close in overall viewers, where Raw holds a commanding lead. Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston points out that Dynamite did beat Raw in male viewers in the key demo, for whatever that’s worth.

Overall, AEW and TNT are likely thrilled with these numbers. The viewership of 1,273,000 is the third highest in the history of the show. The demo rating of 0.48 is tied for third highest in the history of the show. Pretty much all of Dynamite’s numbers are moving in the right direction as the company rides a wave of momentum in the aftermath of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Ruby Soho, and Adam Cole debuting for the promotion.

Here’s a breakdown of AEW viewership and rating in the 18-49 demo over the last year:
