AEW Rankings (Sep. 22, 2021): Billy Gunn!

AEW released their latest rankings (Sep. 22, 2021). Even though this batch was not available prior to last night’s Dynamite, the rankings do not reflect the results from that show. Let’s check out the movers and shakers.

Men:

AEW

No changes for the men. Kenny Omega dueled to a draw against Bryan Danielson on Dynamite, but that shouldn’t affect the rankings for next week. #2 Will Hobbs has the biggest match of his career against CM Punk on Rampage.

Women:

AEW

Tay Conti is back in the top 5 to bump out Kris Statlander. On Dynamite, Dr. Britt Baker successfully retained the AEW Women’s World Championship against Ruby Soho. That means a new #1 is expected next week. Thunder Rosa is the most likely candidate to fill the spot. That brings the question whether AEW will pull the trigger on that title fight or force Thunder Rosa to officially earn the money match.

Tag Team:

AEW

The Young Bucks are back in the top spot after Butcher & Blade went down in defeat to the Lucha Bros on last week’s Rampage. The burly men dropped straight off the charts with that loss. Jurassic Express moved up one spot in their absence.

Hold up. Santana & Ortiz fell out too? That’s bullshit, especially since they hold a recent victory over FTR. Proud & Powerful will probably be back next week since FTR lost to the duo of Sting & Darby Allin. Private Party returned to VIP status rounding out the top 5.

The biggest mover is Billy Gunn and son. They turned on Paul Wight and it paid off. The intention was attention, and now they have it at #4. Wight needs a partner to ruin their run to glory. My vote goes to Mark Henry as colossal powerhouses. Fuego del Sol could use the rub if Wight wants a little man by his side.

Do you agree with AEW’s rankings this week? If not, what would you change?
