The Sept. 17 Rampage ended with Sammy Guevara holding the TNT title after he saved his best friend Fuego Del Sol from Miro. The champ had already beaten Fuego decisively for a second time, so he was in need of a new challenger - and it was pretty obvious who that should be.
On the “Grand Slam” edition of Dynamite from New York, we learned about the next step in that program. It’s a big one, as Miro and Sammy will battle for the TNT championship next Weds., Sept. 29 on Dynamite from Rochester, New York.
The announcement was made after some pre-taped promos that built Guevara up as a heroic babyface, and reminded us that The Redeemer’s weak spot is his neck.

Personally, I still want more Eddie Kingston vs. Miro action. But this is should be a dandy, too. It’s a great clash of styles, with some real suspense about the outcome. Guevara’s been idling since he ended Shawn Spears in the wake of the Inner Circle/Pinnacle feud, and ready to take the next step. But Miro’s such a hot act it’s hard to imagine they’d dethrone him just yet.
We’ll find out how they play it next Wednesday. Thus far, this is the only match booked for the Sept. 29 Dynamite.
