Among the many amazing things about AEW, the fact that 62 year old Sting is not only wrestling for them, but delivering fun, crowd-pleasing performances every time out has to be one of them.
No disrespect to the Icon, but a couple years ago it wasn’t clear if he’d ever wrestle again. Now when he runs wild in a tag match with Darby Allin and submits a man half his age with the Scorpion Death Lock, as he did at the “Grand Slam” edition of Dynamite on Sept. 22 against FTR... I don’t even question it.
Neither did the thousands of people packed into Arthur Ashe Stadium. It doesn’t hurt that Darby nailed Cash Wheeler with an insane Coffin Drop on the apron before the Stinger got Dax Harwood to tap out.
Excuse me while I pound my chest and howl.
