AEW is advertising CM Punk for an appearance on tomorrow night’s (Sept. 3) episode of Rampage. As of last night, we didn’t have any more specific information on what exactly Punk will be doing on the show. Maybe he’ll cut one final promo before his return match against Darby Allin on Sunday (Sept. 5) at All Out? Or perhaps he’ll get physical in the ring again, like when he delivered his first GTS in AEW last night?
We now have our answer:
TOMORROW night @CMPunk ahead of his match with @DarbyAllin at #AEWAllOut on PPV This Sunday 9/5 at 8pm Eastern joins the commentary team for Darby Allin vs @GarciaWrestling in the Main Event of #AEWRampage LIVE TOMORROW night at 10pm et / 9pm cst on @tntdrama pic.twitter.com/g3BrFKYqKZ

Punk will be joining the commentary team for Darby’s match against Daniel Garcia. Because if there is something Rampage desperately needs, it’s more voices in the commentary booth.
Rampage has typically been a front-loaded show up to this point, but the “main event” descriptor in the above tweet makes it sound like the final thing we’ll see tomorrow night as the show fades to black will involve Punk and Allin.
Here’s the updated lineup for Rampage:
- Darby Allin vs. Daniel Garcia, with CM Punk on commentary
- Malakai Black vs. Lee Johnson in a match set-up after the main event of last week’s Dynamite.
- Kris Statlander vs. Rebel & Jaime Hayter, as Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. negotiated a chance for her henchwomen to soften up the #1 contender before Statlander challenges for Baker’s Women’s title on Sunday.
- TNT champion Miro will appear in advance of his All Out defense against Eddie Kingston.
