CM Punk delivers his first AEW GTS

CM Punk returned to the Chicago area on the Sept. 1 edition of Dynamite, and at first it seemed like it would be a well-delivered if fairly standard go home promo for his match at All Out. But then 2point0 and Daniel Garcia rushed him, and we got to see the Best in the World get physical before his first match in over seven years.

The heels, who’ve been feuding with Punk’s opponent on Sunday & his mentor, were putting the boots to Punk. That’s when Darby Allin & Sting made their entrance. The good guys hit their finishers, with Jeff Parker doing the honors for the return of the Go To Sleep.

With the ring cleared, Darby & Punk got forehead-to-forehead, then Sting got on the stick. He put over both men, ensuring them they’re both ready for All Out. Then he announced that he’ll walk his protege to the ring on Sunday at Now Arena - then exit the stage to left Punk & Allin go mano a mano.

Is it Sept. 5 yet?
