AEW Rewind: FTR reuniting with uncertain future, Joey Janela’s new bad girl, more!

Don’t have time to follow all of AEW’s online content? Don’t worry. We got you covered with the AEW Rewind, which will rewind through social media bits and YouTube videos from the past week to prepare you for Wednesday night Dynamite.

“Road to Dynamite: Chicago,” hyped Brian Cage versus Will Hobbs as well as Santana & Ortiz versus FTR.

Dax Harwood spoke about the decision for one more tag match with Cash Wheeler by his side. Wheeler suffered a freak accident during the last encounter against Santana & Ortiz. The ring hook ripped his forearm open resulting in nerve damage. Due to Wheeler’s injury issues, the future is uncertain for FTR’s partnership. One thing is for sure though. Harwood & Wheeler will get even with Santana & Ortiz.

Highlighting story beats from Elevation and Dark, Joey Janela has a new companion by his side. After he defeated Robert Anthony and put the boots to him for good measure, a mystery lady entered the ring looking for action. She promptly powerbombed Anthony. Fire up Bad Girl Summer for Kayla Rossi.

I can’t wait to hear the story of how those two met. Considering Janela’s partying ways during Bad Boy Summer, the possibilities are endless.

Brian Cage handled his business against Anthony Bowens with an awesome finish. Cage caught a flying Bowens to execute a Drill Claw. Team Taz ruined Cage’s party when Hook threw chips in his face. That was a set-up for Hobbs to bash Cage from behind. Ricky Starks stole the scene by sliding in to pose on the mat while Hobbs hit his signature powerslam. Cage will get his chance for revenge against Hobbs tonight on Dynamite.

Diamante & Nyla Rose took down Big Swole & Julia Hart in their grudge match. The babyfaces planned a running double attack to Nyla, but Diamante hooked Swole’s leg to drag her out of the ring. Diamante then clocked Swole with a chain. Nyla took care of Hart with a Beast Bomb to win. With the use of that chain, it seems like the feud between Diamante and Swole is far from over.

QT Marshall defeated Evil Uno. QT had the Factory by his side, while Uno went solo. The numbers game played a role with interference. I’m curious if this could play into Uno and friendship in his Dark Order drama.

AEW announced Hikaru Shida, Emi Sakura, and Kiera Hogan to join Nyla Rose, Thunder Rosa, Red Velvet, Tay Conti, Penelope Ford, Diamante, Bunny, Big Swole, and Julia Hart in the Casino Battle Royale at All Out. Jade Cargill also inserted herself into the mix.

One potential surprise for the battle royale could be the return of Anna Jay from injury. Tay Conti wrestles Penelope Ford on Dynamite with Bunny looming ringside. If Conti was ever in need of backup, tonight would be as good a time as any for the reunion of TayJay.

Chris Jericho’s Triple Whammy Rock N Wrestling Rager at Sea cruise announced Dr. Britt Baker DMD, Orange Cassidy, Frankie Kazarian, Christopher Daniels, and Colt Cabana. The trip is set for October 21 to 25.

Being the Elite

“Milwaukee Young Bucks” - Being The Elite, Ep. 271 (here) featured:

  • The Elite performed a new team handshake with kisses. Also of note, Kenny Omega shaved down his beard. He still has the same style, but it is much shorter now.
  • Shoe shopping with the Young Bucks.
  • Mark Stunt defended the BTE Championship against Cezar Bononi in a stair sprint course inside the arena. Stunt won by half a second.
  • Matt Jackson’s Dior sneakers went missing. He suspects they were stolen by airport staff.
  • Another cream film from Ryan Nemeth. The topic was cream addiction.
  • Bucks’ new sneaker reveal.
  • Peanut gallery comments from the Bucks and Good Brothers watching from stage during Dynamite.
  • More tape study with the Best Friends. Kris Statlander choked Wheeler Yuta.
  • The Young Bucks met Giannis Antetokounmpo backstage. I don’t think Giannis knew who they were.
  • Don Callis and Omega insulted the Milwaukee crowd during a TV commercial break.
  • Leva Bates took a night just for herself to watch movies and drink wine. She decided to read a book.
  • John Silver was bummed about the current troubled status of the Dark Order. What would Hangman Page do? Silver got wasted on whiskey. He joked that CM Punk is probably the next Exalted One.

We’ll close with a merch sale in honor of All Out.
