Renee Paquette says her WWE non-compete is nearly up, hasn’t put much thought into joining AEW

Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette on YouTube

Unlike one of her former WWE Backstage co-stars, the possibility she might show up isn’t going to sellout a building. But adding interviewer & host extraordinaire Renee Paquette to the AEW broadcast team would excite a lot of fans.

After she left WWE and finished her sports entertainment-related obligations to FOX Sports, Paquette said she had a longer than 90 day non-compete agreement. Her last work on a strictly WWE production was at last year’s SummerSlam, and based on what Renee said during a recent appearance on The Wrestling Inc. Daily, I’m guessing the non-compete was a year:

“My non-compete with WWE is nearly up… I still have a good standing relationship with WWE. There’s no ill-will or bad blood or anything like that.”

Whatever the duration, the question is what will the bestselling cookbook author and new mom do next? It’s great she’s cool with WWE, but she’s almost certainly not going back there. Is she sticking with wrestling? Will see go work with hubby Jon Moxley at All Elite?

“I don’t ever want to separate myself from professional wrestling. I know that’s where my fanbase comes from; I know that’s essentially going to always be my bread and butter — and I love that. I love professional wrestling, so I’m not looking to ‘get away’ from it by any stretch.

“Looking at AEW, I think there are endless opportunities of other things I could be doing over there, if that was to be something that came up down the line. I’ve honestly not put much thought into it.”

Renee’s probably put at least some thought into working for Tony Khan, but we get it. Most of us more or less expect her to work for AEW in some capacity in the future, so gotta do what you can to keep folks guessing.

Where are you guessing Paquette shows up after her WWE non-compete expires?
