Two title fights booked for Impact Emergence

New, 2 comments

Impact’s next special event will be Emergence on Friday, August 20. The card is quickly filling up with big fights as two title matches were booked on tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling (Aug. 5, 2021).

First on the docket was Violent by Design interrupting an Elite promo to declare they will be cashing in the rematch clause against the Good Brothers at Emergence.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows won the gold in a four-way tag title bout at Slammiversary. The Good Brothers used a Magic Killer to pin Rhino in that encounter. Eric Young’s Violent by Design crew will be represented by two of the three members in Joe Doering, Deaner, and Rhino.

There was a hiccup in Young’s plan. When he informed Scott D’Amore of his decision, it turned out that Rich Swann and Willie Mack were added to make it a three-way dance. D’Amore justified the call due to Swann and Mack earning a recent win over Violent by Design.

In X-Division action, Jake Something emerged victorious in a #1 contender four-way against Trey Miguel, Rohit Raju, and Daivari.

Jake will receive his opportunity against champion Josh Alexander at Emergence. That is going to be an athletic hoss style.

Kenny Omega is also scheduled to defend the Impact World Championship. His opponent will be determined in a battle royal next week. Moose, Chris Sabin, Sami Callihan, Brian Myers, Sam Beale, and Rich Swann were a few names revealed throughout the broadcast as participants in the contest.

The lineup for Emergence on Friday, August 20 currently stands at:

  • Impact World Championship: Kenny Omega (c) vs. TBD
  • Impact World Tag Team Championship: Good Brothers (c) vs. Violent by Design vs. Rich Swann & Willie Mack
  • X-Division Championship: Josh Alexander (c) vs. Jake Something
