Christian Cage is on top of the world as Impact champion. His first title defense was a success as he put down Brian Myers at Emergence. Christian celebrated the emotional moment with his peeps.
EXCLUSIVE: "Thank you for welcoming me back here with open arms, you'll never know how much this means to me."— IMPACT (@IMPACTWRESTLING) August 23, 2021

There’s no time to rest as champ. Christian’s next challenger is already chomping at the bit. Ace Austin won a four-way #1 contender bout against Moose, Chris Sabin, and Sami Callihan at Emergence. Christian versus Ace for the Impact World Championship is scheduled for Victory Road on September 18.
To add even more intrigue, Tommy Dreamer found himself inserted into the mix with the opportunity to turn the singles bout into a three-way.
It started innocently enough on Impact Wrestling (Aug. 26, 2021) with Dreamer putting over Christian as a man of the business-ah.
Ace is an attention seeker, so he came out to introduce himself. Ace was confident in becoming the youngest world champ in Impact history, but Christian wasn’t playing that. A skirmish ensued with Christian and Dreamer clearing the ring.

Backstage, Ace approached Scott D’Amore to demand a match against Dreamer next week. D’Amore obliged with a twist. If Dreamer wins, then he is in on the title match at Victory Road.
It pays to have friends. Dreamer didn’t even have an angle on chasing the title, and yet here he is back in the mix once again. At 50 years old, Dreamer could be the man to bring the Impact World Championship home from AEW’s clutches. Funny enough, he wouldn’t be the oldest world champ in Impact and TNA history. That honor belongs to Sting at the ripe age of 52.
Are you rooting for Dreamer to win next week and advance to the title match at Victory Road?
