CM Punk brings in Dynamite’s best ratings since the premiere episode

AEW Dynamite

The ratings and viewership data are in for last night’s (Aug. 25) episode of AEW Dynamite.

Per ShowBuzzDaily, Dynamite netted 1,172,000 viewers for a .48 rating point in the 18-49 demographic. The numbers are a huge jump up from last week’s results of 975,000 and 0.35 in these respective metrics. Dynamite ranked in 1st place on cable in the demo rating last night.

The reason for the steep increase is obvious - this was CM Punk’s first appearance on Dynamite since he debuted with AEW last Friday on Rampage.

Tony Khan says this is the beginning of a new era for AEW. The total viewership mark of 1,172,000 is very impressive - the third highest total in the show’s history - but not necessarily a “new era” type number. The demo rating of 0.48 is Dynamite’s second best ever, only trailing behind the premiere episode from October 2019.

CM Punk’s deal with AEW continues to pay for itself, while fans anticipate seeing Daniel Bryan on Dynamite in about a month, as Punk himself even teased last night.

Here’s a breakdown of AEW viewership and rating in the 18-49 demo over the last year:
