AEW added several thing to the card for their next PPV during the Aug. 25 Dynamite.
Chris Jericho put his in-ring career with the company on the line for another chance to beat MJF, and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.’s title defense against #1 ranked Kris Statlander was made official.
More surprising than those was Jon Moxley’s match for the Sun., Sept. 5 PPV in Chicagoland. There had been some reports Mox might face New Japan’s Forever Ace, current IWGP United States champion Hiroshi Tanahashi. Those hopes were dashed last week in a story broken by Wrestling Observer. The alternative isn’t as flashy a name, but it’s still a match a lot of people are excited for - including Moxley. Not that you can tell from this in character promo...
.@JonMoxley got a FedEx from Tokyo with a contract to face #NJPW legend @cozy_lariat at #AEWAllOut in Chicago on Sept. 5!

50 year old Satoshi Kojima has held New Japan’s IWGP Heavyweight title, All Japan’s Triple Crown, and the NWA World Heavyweight belt - one of only three wrestlers to achieve that career trifecta. He and Hiroyoshi Tenzan are also former IWGP and NWA Tag champs. Kojima is a charismatic performer and strong style practitioner (he loves bread and giving lariats, not necessarily in that order), and a battle with Mox should make a great addition to the All Out card.
Which now looks like this...
- Kenny Omega (c) vs. Christian Cage for the AEW World championship
- CM Punk vs. Darby Allin
- The Young Bucks (c) vs. the winner of Rampage’s Lucha Bros/Jurassic Express match in a Steel Cage for the AEW Tag titles
- Kris Statlander vs. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (c) for the AEW Women’s championship
- PAC vs. Andrade El Idolo
- Jon Moxley vs. Satoshi Kojima
- Paul Wight vs. QT Marshall
- Casino Battle Royal for a future Women’s championship shot (Julia Hart, Big Swole, Bunny, Thunder Rosa, Nyla Rose, Red Velvet, Tay Conti, Penelope Ford, Diamante & 12 women TBA)
Sound like a good way to spend part of Labor Day weekend?
