CM Punk says he’s not going anywhere, will face Darby Allin at All Out

The entrance alone gave me chills, but CM Punk’s first promo in AEW was just as good.

Punk addressed the emotions created by the reaction he got from his hometown crowd in Chicago.

Punk admitted he wouldn’t get to everything he has to say tonight (Aug. 20), but told us he has plenty of time. He’ll be around Wednesdays, Fridays, and four weekends a year. He’s not going anywhere.

After a dramatic reveal of some new merch, Punk took his iconic cross-legged pose to tell us a story. It was about what Ring of Honor meant to him in the aughts, and how AEW represents that same thing to him today - home.

From his ROH exit until now, he was gone from pro wrestling. But now...

There was still the matter of next steps for the Best in the World, and someone else who’s been using that phrase was in the rafters with his mentor, which made it easy to book an All Out match between CM Punk & Darby Allin.

It was all pretty perfect. The only way it could be better would be if you were in Chicago’s United Center on Fri., Aug. 20 for The First Dance edition of Rampage.

Those folks got free ice cream bars.
