Kiera Hogan to debut in AEW

Kiera Hogan is bringing her fire to AEW. The two-time Impact Knockouts tag team champion is set to debut on Monday’s episode of Elevation.

Last we saw Hogan, her soul was being snatched by Su Yung and Kimber Lee Thursday night on Impact Wrestling. Being abducted into the Undead Realm was Impact’s way of writing Hogan off TV as she exited the promotion to test free agency. Hogan took the experience in stride to find an old friend leading her to the Forbidden Door. Unfortunately for Hogan, that door leads to a match with Hikaru Shida.

Hogan’s comment touches on past Impact storylines and Allie, now known as The Bunny in AEW. It would be amusing to see a backstage encounter between the two.

Hogan hasn’t been officially declared as an All Elite signing, but a good showing against Shida is a strong way to get her foot in the door for more appearances. Even though Hogan is a newcomer in AEW, she better watch her back. Big Swole is none too pleased that the girlfriend of her current rival, Diamante, will be in the locker room.

Hogan was also called out by Tay Conti for a match. Of course, Conti did it in the most polite way possible by using please.

The advertised lineup for Elevation includes:

  • TH2 vs. Lucha Bros
  • Kiera Hogan vs. Hikaru Shida
  • Joey Janela vs. 5
  • Jade Cargill vs. Katie Arquette
  • Ray Lyn vs. Thunder Rosa
  • Reggie Collins vs. Lance Archer
  • Serpentico vs. Sammy Guevara
  • 2.0 vs. Duke Davis & Ganon Jones
  • Anthony Bowens vs. PAC
  • Brian Cage vs. Joey Keys
  • Diamante vs. Julie Hart

A couple of notes that stick out to me are Anthony Bowens competing without Max Caster by his side and ROH dojo alum Joey Keys in the mix. Surely the lack of Caster will only fuel fan speculation on rumors of his absence, but keep in mind these matches were filmed last week. Keys must be incognito by adding the ‘y’ instead of rolling with his ROH moniker Joe Keys. Also, the name Katie Arquette certainly garners attention. It turns out that she is not related to former WCW World Heavyweight Champion David Arquette, but she did receive David’s support when he gifted her a fur coat to use for entrances.

Do you think Kiera Hogan would be a good addition to AEW’s roster? Where does she fit in the hierarchy of their women’s division?
