Sting’s first match on TNT in 20 years, and the rest of Aug. 18’s Dynamite card

AEW was making matches for no less than three shows during this week’s Dynamite, but that didn’t mean next week’s Dynamite got short shrift.

Jurassic Express’ shot at The Young Bucks’ Tag titles was announced in the show’s first segment, and the relatively impromptu championship feud was built up when Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus crashed Matt & Nick Jackson’s hoop-side promo spot.

The main event will likely be Chris Jericho’s Final Labour when he faces MJF sans all thing Judas, but I’m pretty amped for the Texas Tornado Tag pitting 2.0 against Sting & Darby Allin. Matt Lee & Jeff Parker (who were also entertaining as hell in NXT as Ever-Rise) have been itching for a fight with The Icon since their debut last Wednesday. They got the taste they were asking for when they tried to interfere in Allin’s match with Daniel Garcia this week...

... and they’ll get more next week when the Stinger returns to the ring on TNT for the first time since March 26, 2001, when he beat Ric Flair in the main event of the final “Night of Champions” edition of WCW Nitro.

The Aug. 18 show from Houston will also feature Sammy Guevara vs. Shawn Spears, which was set-up in the aftermath of Jericho’s win over Wardlow tonight, and should end their long rivalry.

Ready to light the fuse on another Dynamite?
