AEW sells more than 10,000 tickets for ‘The First Dance’ during pre-sale

Chicago Bull’s Twitter

Concerns that AEW couldn’t move tickets for a fourth Chicagoland show two weeks before All Out seem to be unfounded. And, as Post Wrestling’s John Pollock tweeted, four little words from Darby Allin after the Aug. 20 “The First Dance” edition of Rampage was announced proved to be a very effective promotional technique.

In just a few hours of a pre-sale today (July 30), fans bought more than 10,000 tickets to “The First Dance” at United Center. That’s more than 40% of the venues listed capacity for concerts at the home of the NBA’s Chicago Bulls & NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks, which is 23,500.

Pollock noted that seats were held back in all price categories for when tickets go on sale to the general public, Mon., Aug. 2 at 11 am ET. So in theory, they could have sold more than they did today.

Will they sell out without having to even say the words “CM Punk”? Looks like a very real possibility.
