Mark Henry won’t be wrestling for AEW any time soon

AEW Dynamite

Mark Henry and Paul Wight both left WWE and joined the AEW roster earlier this year, but neither man has competed in a match for Tony Khan’s wrestling promotion. Wight has instead become a member of the commentary team for Dark: Elevation, while Henry will commentate on AEW’s new show, Thunder Rampage, debuting on Aug. 13. Both men have stated that they are not done in the ring yet, and they intend to wrestle for AEW at some point down the line.

During an interview on the Battleground Podcast, Henry confirmed that he will wrestle at least one match in AEW, but said it won’t be happening any time soon because he’s physically banged up:

“Well, it’s definitely gonna happen in AEW. It’s not gonna be any time soon, I think. I want to be 100%. I’m still nursing injuries from four years ago. Like, wrestling business is a tough business. It’s not meant for everybody. Being in my home state, it will be cool to be able to do that, but just not at this current time.”

Are you looking forward to Henry’s eventual return to the ring in AEW?
