Thunder Rosa has been working with AEW for almost a year. She debuted last August, and immediately became a fan favorite with a show-stealing performance against the company’s then-Women’s champion Hikaru Shida.
She’s been a staple of Dark and Dark: Elevation ever since, and worked a main roster feud with current champ Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. that culminated in the signature moment for the AEW Women’s division - their Unsanctioned Lights Out match that main evented the Mar. 17 episode of Dynamite.
The audience has been clamoring for Tony Khan to sign Rosa, even as she committed to remaining with the NWA for the length of her contract, ran her own promotion in Texas, and made appearances such as the one she made last weekend at Impact Slammiversary.
It was believed her deal with Billy Corgan was through the end of this year, but it appears the parties have worked something out...
Based on their history, and the fact Rosa won that Lights Out match, the former Lucha Underground star looms large as a future challenge for the good Doctor.
