Kenny Omega vs. Sami Callihan title fight has dangerous stipulation for Slammiversary

Slammiversary is coming hard this weekend on Saturday, July 17, and the main event between Kenny Omega and Sami Callihan just got more dangerous.

After last week’s Impact World Championship contract signing, Omega versus Callihan was scheduled as a regular match. Earlier this week, Callihan requested to up the ante to No DQ. The Death Machine viewed it as a preemptive strike to counter Omega’s nefarious reliance on the Good Brothers and the Elite to cheat.

Ask and ye shall receive. Callihan’s proposal was given the green light by Impact. The Slammiversary main event title match will officially be No DQ.

That is a dangerous upgrade. When Callihan hears No DQ, he goes above and beyond the standard tables, ladders, and chairs. He’s called the Death Machine for a reason. Callihan has used all sorts of foreign objects in the past, such as thumbtacks, Lego pieces, barbed wire baseball bats, and other horribly demented utensils for torture. Omega should be very worried for his safety.

The Slammiversary lineup includes:

  • Impact World Championship: Kenny Omega (c) vs. Sami Callihan
  • Knockouts Championship: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. mystery opponent
  • X-Division Championship in Ultimate X: Josh Alexander (c) vs. Trey Miguel vs. Ace Austin vs. Chris Bey vs. Rohit Raju vs. Petey Williams
  • World Tag Team Championship: Violent by Design (c) vs. Good Brothers vs. Rich Swann & Willie Mack vs. TJP & Fallah Bahh
  • Knockouts Tag Team Championship: Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz (c) vs. Rosemary & Havok
  • Moose vs. Chris Sabin
  • W. Morrissey vs. Eddie Edwards
  • Brian Myers & Tenille Dashwood vs. Matt Cardona & surprise partner

Does the No DQ stipulation for Omega versus Callihan increase your interest in Slammiversary? Do you believe Callihan will bring the gold back to Impact?
