AEW star Trent says he had neck fusion surgery

The injuries unfortunately continue to pile up for AEW wrestler Trent.

Trent missed roughly the first four months of 2021 due to a torn pectoral muscle. He made his dramatic return from his mom’s van at the Arcade Anarchy match on the Mar. 31 episode of Dynamite. But he’s only wrestled in four matches since then. His most recent match took place on the Apr. 21 episode on Dynamite, where he lost against Penta El Zero Miedo.

Today’s tweet from Trent would explain why he hasn’t wrestled in over two months. He posted a picture from the hospital and said he’s doing well after neck fusion surgery:

Neck fusion surgeries in wrestling typically put someone out of action for a year or longer. It’s not clear if that is the timetable Trent is looking at here, but this is one of those cases where wrestling concerns aren’t the most urgent priority to worry about.

We wish Trent the best as he recovers from this operation.
