AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JUNE 18

I hold out for consensus, give the masses the benefit of the doubt, insist the democratic process will bear this population out. And I also liveblog this, my second pro wrestling show of the evening, for you folks.

Jake Hager vs. Wardlow (MMA Rules Steel Cage Match)

The match is in fact taking place inside of an octagon with three five-minute rounds.

Hager probing punches, Wardlow keeping his distance, neither man landing anything in the first minute or so, they lock up and end up in the cage and referee Aubrey Edwards forces the break. Jake lands a left jab and Mr. Mayhem smiles. Hager going for a double leg but Wardlow shrugs him off and tosses him aside by the cage!

Circling, finally a takedown into hammerfists but Wardlow is able to get away! Entering the final minute, hammering each other with windmill punches and haymakers, Wardlow has him staggered, pushing him into the cage... SUPERMAN PUNCH OFF THE CAGE! Chasing after him, Jake on the defensive, turtling up as the clock runs out to conclude the first round!

Round two, Wardlow charges in with a big knee, sidestepped, Hager with a waistlock, Mr. Mayhem counters into a rolling armbar takedown but he can’t lock the hold in and Jake backs himself against the cage for safety. Raining punches down, forcing Hager to turtle up in guard, looking for the cross armbar and Jake posts out of it!

Rolling around into overhand elbows to the ribs, Hager gets up into an ankle lock but Wardlow rolls around into an upkick! Jake kicks him into the cage, a second kick countered and Mr. Mayhem powerbombs him into the cage! Snapping off a headscissors takeover to follow it, spear into grounded punches but Hager counters into the head-and-arm triangle!

Wardlow struggling to sit up and break his grip, fireman’s carry, Hager with a Rock Bottom right back into the triangle! A full minute left in the round, Wardlow fading...

Jake Hager wins by referee stoppage with the head-and-arm triangle in the second round.

Post-match, Shawn Spears hits the ring and attacks Hager! Chris Jericho makes the save, the Pinnacle men double-team Y2J until Jake recovers and evens the odds! Maxwell Jacob Friedman runs in and attacks Jericho! He tears the sleeve off the injured elbow... SALT OF THE EARTH!

Dean Malenko makes the save for his old pal and MJF holds off from attacking the old man... BEFORE DROPPING HIM WITH A FOREARM!

Frankie Kazarian, Eddie Kingston, and Penta el Zero M cut a promo backstage.

Kazarian says he’s done being decent and he’ll leave the Elite in a pile of their own despair. Eddie Kingston says they better pray and hope god takes their souls, because they’ve got their asses.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Team Taz are backstage.

Taz tells Ricky Starks that the problem with Cage needs to end right now, and additionally he challenges “Hangman” Adam Page to a match against “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs on next week’s Saturday night edition of Dynamite.

Darby Allin vs. Men of the Year (“All Ego” Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky) (Handicap Match)

Page to start, Allin slaps him across the face and he shrugs it off! Arm drag, arm drag, springboard arm drag, and Ethan backs into the ropes for some separation! Tag to Sky, drop toehold, cover for two, whip reversed, cheap shot from All Ego into a double-team that lays Darby out!

Coffin Drop for two, Page takes over and Allin is on the back foot after a minute. Upkicks for stomps, Ethan drags him into the corner and we go to break.

Back from commercial, heels still in control, Sky tags in and hits a backbreaker! Quick tags, continuing to work Allin over, continuing to work the back, small package, knee lift, Darby cuts Page off and Sky tags back in. Leapfrog, take out All Ego with a back elbow, shotgun dropkick into the Yoshi Tonic... NOPE!

Ethan with a chokeslam... AND DARBY ZIPTIES HIS FEET TOGETHER! Schoolboy can’t keep Scorpio down, neither can La Casita, he gets the standing Diamond Dust and goes up top... BUT ETHAN MAKES THE SAVE EVEN WITH HIS FEET TIED TOGETHER! Page gets a pair of wire cutters out of a tool box and snips the ziptie!

Putting Allin into the post, throwing him back inside, stalking around ringside and getting back up on the apron to tag back in. Setting Darby on top, jockeying for position, Allin bites him to knock him down but Sky crotches him! All Ego sets him up... EGO’S EDGE! IT’S OVER!

Men of the Year win by pinfall with Ego’s Edge from “All Ego” Ethan Page.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial we get an inset promo from the Wingmen where they complain about Orange Cassidy not texting them back about their offer to give him a makeover and “make him pretty.”

Cezar Bononi vs. Orange Cassidy

Bononi in control early, scoop and a release slam tosses Cassidy across the ring! He falls to the floor, the Wingmen give him a makeover, putting product in his hair and spray tanning him! Back inside, off the ropes, Cezar catches him and drops him with a big boot! Throwing him back out to the Wingmen, more styling as they brush his hair and force him into a sparkly gold blazer.

Back inside, whip across, Orange slingshots, shoots him off, drop down and Bononi trips all the way back to the floor! Slingshot plancha, the Wingmen catch him and throw him back inside! Best Friends de-makeover Orange and give him a boost... ASSISTED TOPE CON GIRO WIPES THE WINGMEN OUT!

Diving DDT blocked, Cezar reverses but only gets Stundog Millionaire’d! Satellite DDT into a kip-up, Chuck Taylor distracts Ryan Nemeth long enough for the Orange Punch, Kris Statlander takes JD Drake out long enough for a punch of his own, Orange is ready for Bononi...

Orange Cassidy wins by pinfall with the Orange Punch.

Post-match, Best Friends do the snap zoom hug while “Pretty” Peter Avalon cradles Bononi and cries out to an uncaring god.

“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry is interviewed backstage when Kenny Omega and Don Callis roll up to interrupt. Omega says the champ is here with no fancy suit, no title belt, and why? Because Jack embarrassed him and tarnished his image, and he’s gonna give Perry a chance to show how tough he is.

He’s packed a picnic with two knuckle sandwiches for Jungle Boy, and he wants to fight right here! Perry says he’d rather beat him next week, in the ring, for the title. Omega sweetens the deal, first one’s free. But as soon as he takes the shot, he’ll be all over his ass.

This is his only chance, and Jack goes to put his hair up... WHEN MICHAEL NAKAZAWA ATTACKS FROM BEHIND WITH THE LAPTOP! Omega jumps Jungle Boy, they brawl, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, the Hardy Family Office are interviewed backstage.

Matt Hardy accuses Christian Cage of breaking his contract and coming for him, and if he keeps doing it he’s gonna send him— CAGE ATTACKS BUT HFO LOCK HIM BEHIND A CHAIN LINK FENCE! Hardy wants to talk, and he’s gonna give Christian an out— retire again, he’ll pay him for it.

Cage tells him to open the door but Matt says a little alone time will give him perspective, and if he keeps coming after him, he’s gonna end his career, permanently.

Brock Anderson & Cody Rhodes vs. the Factory (Aaron Solow & QT Marshall)

Anderson and Solow to start, Aaron with a wristlock and paintbrush slaps, Brock reverses and trips him up, arm wringer, handful of hair and finally the Factory man takes him down with a mat slam!

Anderson gets him down for a stomp to the wrist, tag to Marshall but he doesn’t want to deal with Brock, he wants Cody! Tag made, QT runs away and tags right out! Rhodes with a kick, drop down slap, suicide dive connects, up and over, snap scoop powerslam scouted and Aaron hits a double stomp!

Keeping Cody isolated, quick tags, but Rhodes lands on his feet off a back suplex and tags Brock back in! Shoulder thrusts in the corner, snapping away over and over, double leg up onto one shoulder, back body drop! Karelin Lift on Solow but QT hits the spinning spinebuster on Anderson!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Anderson gets away from Marshall and the path is clear! Solow runs in, reaching, crawling, Aaron has referee Paul Turner distracted and he didn’t see the tag! Turner distracted, back suplex / neckbreaker double team for two! Inverted facelock, Brock reverses... DDT!

Rhodes with the tag, powerslam to Solow, bringing Marshall back in and hip tossing him across the ring! Flying headscissors, and a clothesline sends QT to the floor! Block the low blow, leg pick into the figure four leglock but Aaron gets the ropes! Sending Solow up top, flip piledriver on QT when he runs in, Aaron with a schoolboy and a handful of trunks... NOT ENOUGH!

Solow with a kick, Anderson breaks it up, Cody dives on QT, Aaron comes from behind on Brock but gets double legged, jackknife...

Brock Anderson & Cody Rhodes win by pinfall with a jackknife pin from Anderson on Aaron Solow.

Post-match, Arn and Brock celebrate together.

Jake “the Snake” Roberts and Lance Archer cut a promo from a shattered warehouse somewhere.

Jake says Lance isn’t a doctor because he doesn’t have any patience, and what’s he gonna do, bitchslap him and tell him to stop? Archer paces like a madman the entire time and roars at Roberts as we end the segment.

Jim Ross sits down with Andrade el Idolo.

Andrade says he came here because there are many stars, but he is *the* superstar. He says he wants opportunities for both singles titles here, and he’s with Vickie Guerrero because she understands the business and she’s very smart and they have a great connection. But you need to wait because they have a surprise.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, the Dark Order and “Hangman” Adam Page are interviewed backstage.

Page accepts Will Hobbs’ challenge but says he’s not concerned about that right now, he just wants to drink and hang out with his friends. Asked about being #2 contender to the world title, he says John Silver is almost healed up, 10 got the win last week, 5 got a new jacket, and Evil Uno gave the performance of a lifetime against Miro last week, so he wants to toast him.

Julia Hart vs. Penelope Ford

Ford with a wristlock, Hart rolls through and reverses, Penelope with a side headlock and into the takeover, wrenching it in. Kip-up to show off, back to the hold, shot off, shoulder block, Julia with a dropkick and then a crossbody! Leg pick, to the floor, Ford with an elbow, step-up knee drop on the apron and we go to break.

Back from commercial, back and forth, Ford with a lariat, Hart with chest kicks and Penelope cracks her in the jaw with a slap! Fireman’s carry gutbuster, follow it up with a moonsault but Julia rolls away! Off the ropes, the splits miss, Penelope with a deathlock, bridging back into the Muta Lock...

Penelope Ford wins by submission with a Muta Lock.

Post-match, Ford keeps the hold on as long as she can, until the Varsity Blonds break things up!

Enter Miro.

He asks where Kip Sabian is and promises Penelope Ford that he’ll fight for her honor before dropping Griff Garrison with a lariat! Brian Pillman, Jr. dives and they brawl until referees pull them apart! Miro breaks loose and charges in to restart the brawl!

Dr. Britt Baker, DMD is interviewed backstage by Tony Schiavone.

Vickie Guerrero rolls up and complains of smelling raw onions and stale cheese sauce, but she’s not happy because she wants that title around Nyla Rose’s waist. Britt mockingly suggests she should just hand the title over, Vickie says she wants a match and Tony Khan owes her a favor for bringing Andrade in.

He’s let her set up a match, Nyla and herself against Britt and Rebel.

That match will happen on the next Wednesday Dynamite, on June 30, as well as Miro vs. Brian Pillman, Jr. and MJF vs. Sammy Guevara.

Commentary also runs down next week’s Saturday night card as well.

We get a video package of dueling promos from FTR and Proud-N-Powerful where FTR say PNP are basically the same as them but Ortiz and Santana say they might think they’re the same but they’re not.

That sends us to break.

Back from commercial, we get a hype reel for AEW’s touring plans for the fall.

“Smart” Mark Sterling and Jade Cargill are backstage to talk about their monetization plan.

They’ve partnered with the Toronto Four Seasons and they’re accepting offers from other elite companies, promo code ThatBitch. But they’re also focused on pro wrestling, where Jade is undefeated, and she’s gonna continue her win streak on the first episode of Rampage, because she’s That Bitch.

Eddie Kingston, Frankie Kazarian, & Penta el Zero M vs. the Elite (Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson, & Matt Jackson)

Kazarian to start, rushing in and isolating Anderson, just wailing on him, right hands, whip across, hip toss blocked, waistlock, O’Connor roll, only two! Rolling solebutt, knee lift, lariat, Frankie draws him up and takes him into the corner for a tag. Penta in, leg kick, Machine Gun rakes the eyes and tags out to Jackson.

Front kick, double whip, Penta with kicks for both of them, Sling Blades follow and he’s fired up! Leg kick to Matt, tag to Kingston, double whip, drop toehold into a Camel Clutch into a Penalty Kick! In the ropes, smashing Jackson’s face into the turnbuckles, chops, Matt gets away and Gallows tags in!

Shoulder blocks to chop the big man down, off the second with a battering ram shoulder, clear the apron, Karl pulls him down and he and Eddie brawl for a moment before King pokes the eye and bites his ear! The match breaks down, chaotic brawling, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Anderson is in control and working Kingston over, tag to Gallows, tag to Jackson and they work Eddie over. Matt punching, Kingston fires up and devastates him with chops! Jackson rakes the eyes, King gets away and tags Kazarian in! The Elite Hunter in hot, scoop and a slam, springboard leg drop... NOPE!

Whip across, front chancery, go-behind, crossface chickenwing applied but Doc breaks it up! Spinning spinebuster, both men down and out, tags to Penta and Jackson! Diving crossbody, duck a lariat, quebradora connects! Penta with a tope con giro, springboard DDT back inside... NO GOOD!

Double whip, enzuigiri, babyfaces charging hard, Penta with underhooks... FEAR FACTOR! BACKDROP DRIVER! KAZARIAN... ANGEL’S WINGS! EDDIE MAKES THE COVER BUT GALLOWS BREAKS IT UP! Dragging Matt over for the tag, Anderson legal, whip to the corner, Penta with a lariat, an enzuigiri, a snapmare, basement superkick for two!

Machine Gun with a jumping neckbreaker for separation, tag to Doc, Good Brothers clear the apron, double teams, Jackson drops the big elbow... PENTA KICKS OUT! Anderson tags back in, Magic Killer denied when Kaz runs in, he passes Big Hoot to the floor, superkick from Jackson, Kingston with a half nelson suplex, Anderson with the Sick Kick!

Drawing Penta up, whip to the corner, up and over into a lungblower! Going up top for the followup, Nick Jackson runs in with the cold spray, Machine Gun off the top...

The Elite win by pinfall with a Gun Stun from Karl Anderson on Penta el Zero M.

The Elite celebrate on the stage.

That’s the show, folks.
