AEW presented its first ever Blood & Guts match on last night’s (May 5) episode of Dynamite, and the match lived up to the billing in terms of the violence on display. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler were pouring buckets of blood from early on in the fight, Jake Hager was somehow bleeding before the match ever began, and I’m pretty sure that Cody Rhodes started bleeding earlier in the show at the mere thought of the physical torture that was coming for the members of the Inner Circle and The Pinnacle. In addition to all of the bloodshed, the match also featured chair shots to the head and a concrete-like structure made of cardboard.
Sammy Guevara is one of the only competitors who endured the full brutality of the Blood & Guts match from start to finish; he took to Twitter to post the following picture of what his body looks like in the aftermath.

This is essentially what all 10 wrestlers were willing to put their bodies through in order to entertain AEW fans last night. It’s gnarly, and looks super painful.
For many viewers, Guevara was the star of the match. Do you expect Blood & Guts to be a launching pad for a strong babyface run for Sammy throughout the remainder of 2021?
